Just a suggestion for a future podcast, but there was a really good interview with Chris Chapman (link below) in regards to the Blu-Ray collections that have been coming out, but the one key area that wasn't covered is what their plans are in terms of the Hartnell and Troughton seasons. Would be good if you chaps could meet up with him and/or his colleagues involved and fine out any info. I appreciate they like to keep it a surprise as to what will be released next so that the trailers come as a nice surprise, but it would be good to know general thoughts on what they will do with those 6 seasons as it's all driven around the missing episodes really. All I have read or heard rumors on is that they work independently to the animation team, so it seems like they are not aiming for a season to be given a priority on animation for a release, but focusing on the colour seasons for now. Just a thought! Keep up the great work chaps! :-) www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgpvO-GWYhQ

But while I'd love to know what's planned, I can't see Chris or anyone else breaking any NDA's. When we interviewed Paul Scoones, his lips were tightly and immovably sealed regarding next releases. But let me plug my good friend Richard's podcast... he's interviewed Chris, along with some other great guests on his Something Who podcast. Some of the other voices on there may be familiar! somethingwho.podbean.com/e/episode-17-chris-chapman/

Doctor Who: The Missing Episodes Podcast - Episode 5 - Galaxy 4All is not as it appears and evil can be found where you least expect it! Yes, BBC Enterprises' attitude to missing episodes back in the late 1970's wasn't the most helpful, as this episode’s guest explains. First off, Paul and Tim review the largely missing Season 3 opener, while they dispute fan lore and ponder what this story is really about… Then they’re joined by Jan Vincent-Rudski for a look at the foundation of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society, his involvement with seminal documentary “Whose Doctor Who”, and his subsequent stewardship of just shy of 6 minutes of “Four Hundred Dawns”. Jan also obtained those oh-so-important 8mm snippets of monochrome Who and he provides fascinating insight into those early days of organised fandom and the dawning realisation that much of our beloved show had gone, perhaps forever. So tune in your Chumbley and join us as we review “Galaxy 4”. It's a Rilly good listen! If you enjoy this podcast, we'd love it if you shared it on social media to help us find our audience! Just a small correction, Tim. That should be Jan Vincent-Rudzki.
By the way, no one on the Blu-ray collections works under an NDA. In fact, in all almost 20 years I've worked on the DVDs and Blu-rays ranges, I've only ever known two people to be under an NDA on one occasion! It just a matter of professionalism that people don't say anything they shouldn't.
Look forward to listening to the new one.

Apologies to Jan! Fair point on the NDA's: I was quoting someone, but they may have been talking figuratively!

Really enjoyed listening to Episode 5 the other day! Thanks again chaps. It did sound a bit like a footie scoreline - "Episode 5 - Galaxy 4" Looking forward to Mission to the Unknown! Hopefully that will be on the list for the animators to have a go at, even though we have the excellent recreation that was released recently. Be nice to use the original soundtrack.

Looking forward to Mission to the Unknown! Hopefully that will be on the list for the animators to have a go at, even though we have the excellent recreation that was released recently. Be nice to use the original soundtrack. Someone has synced up the recreation to the original audio, which actually works very well. (It's available on a YouTube alternative.) There are a few instances that the creator acknowledges could use improvements, but it's remarkable how close the new actors' cadence matches that of the originals. No offence to the former, but their performances are actually enhanced with the original audio. Another clever individual has had a go at using deep fake to turn footage of himself into Edward de Souza for a short sequence where Marc Cory talks about Varga thorns. (It's on YouTube.) It's not perfect by any means, but it's an interesting direction of travel. Who knows, maybe one day the technology will be such that in addition to the original audio the likenesses of the original actors can be mapped onto the new actors.

Started listening to these today. Generally entertaining, though I must admit I'm much more interested in chat about the chances of getting prints back, where they sold, etc, than the discussion of the content of the stories themselves. If it got down straight away to the nitty-gritty of why they're lost, where they aired, efforts at recovery, these would perhaps feel a little more focused than they do. Overall, though, I enjoyed the first couple and plan to continue to catch up.

Overall, though, I enjoyed the first couple and plan to continue to catch up. Thanks for the feedback, Alan. Obviously I´ve seen this after we chatted earlier! As I said, I´ll reintroduce the time signatures in the blurb so people can pick and choose what to listen to: we've had lots of positives on the review sections, but I totally respect that they're not everyone's cup of tea... that's why I put the time sigs on in the first place - I simply forgot for the last couple. Another issue on the ME content is that come half way through S3, we´ll have very little to say! On the plus side, regarding ME´s, I´m guessing you´re one or two in, in which case you have some superb guest appearances in Paul Scoones, Jon Preddle and Jan V-R to come, which are very heavy on the ME content. You'll just have to skip over any blathering from Paul and I As for the other matter you mentioned - it's now in the ever growing list of errata for the next episode. I've found what we discussed and what I had mistaken and you are indeed right, so thanks again!

Yes, it's the first two I've heard so far. Looking forward to the guest appearances (though of course hearing my pal Greg Bakun was lovely too).

Listened to the Crusade episode today. Absolutely fascinating. Best one yet (in terms of what I've listened to). I think by this point the podcast is really finding its feet. The Paul Scoones interview is excellent and goes into the mechanics of the 1999 find in great depth from an insider's view. The sort of story we'd all like to be in the position of being able to tell. Great to hear such a story told with humility and good humour. 😎

Even though it happened 20 years ago, it felt very fresh to me!
