What we need is a crack team of young buff 20 something male Dr Who fans to wine, dine and sign on the dotted line these nonagenarian widows so the estates get funnelled back into fandom! I'd love to have a go at that but, at 66 I think I may have missed that boat Boat? You had a boat? You were lucky! When I was a lad, all we had was a piece of old rotten driftwood that we had to ride whichever way the wind took us. Coincidentally, at 61 myself I look pretty similar to that piece o’ timber 🤣

To quote Jim Trott, of Dibley fame, "No...no...no...nonagenerians? No...no...No!". (With apologies to actual generation Nonas out there, here's Boy George's hit: Nona, nona, nonagenerian...

Imagine we found a missing episode that's in the same condition as that Morecambe and Wise ep. 2 print, should we do the same to it and cut out pieces to scan and reconstruct the footage image that's still in there? Or should we put it aside and hope a better condition print can be found? I know cutting up film is like a sin, but if it's the only known remaining print, we may not have a choice.

If it's like the Morecambe & Wise print, you cut it up and do what you can with it, quickly. The deterioration will not get better and it will not stabilise. It will only get worse. You gain absolutely nothing by just putting it to one side.
