With regards to the adventures of Francie and Josie. I believe that this was also shown on Border, Grampian and Ulster tv. Would these have been shown at the same time or would the tapes / film be sent over at a later date ?. Just might be worth checking out the Ulster / Border archive if they did. Ian You are absolutely correct about The Adventures Of Francie and Josie being shown on Ulster tv. Here they are are 22.40-23.10 pm on Sunday 6 October 1963, on the full television schedule for that day.. www.tvlistings.thetvroomplus.com/listing-476.htmlThanks Simon, I have sent a quick enquiry to Utv archive fingers crossed .

the following are all completely Missing from the STV archive, not one episode is currently there. That's a very interesting list. I suppose the one key question arising is how certain are we that this material is actually missing? Has STV done a comprehensive inventory of its holdings? What is the source of the list? I don't know very much about STV's archive but there have been cases in recent years where catalogues have proven incomplete or inaccurate and lost material has been identified through shelf checks [including every missing episode of ATV's Sergeant Cork!]. Until such a check has occurred, there is a small possibility that material from the missing 65 programmes may still survive within the station's archives.

This thread prompted me to dig out an old VHS cassette which has a complete edition of `Midweek Scotsport' from 1984. By chance this also contains some STV continuity which I have dated to August 13th 1983. Liz Kristiansen welcomes STV viewers on the Sunday morning and with the aid of captions announces the afternoon and early evening schedules - it runs to around ninety seconds. Its luck that this survives as it was a bits and pieces tape with the preceeding and following programmes taped over. I can only assume there was something of interest on `Good Morning Britain' which I set the timer for. I will make a point of emailing my STV contact next week to see if they are interested - I suspect they dont have the complete Scotsport although I am not sure of their policy on off air recordings.

Hi Ken
The info is taken from the TV Times and Scottish newspapers. As and where STV responded, we have put in the information about archive holdings. They are very helpful people, but I'm sure they do find things from time to time, like all archives do. Then there will be uncatalogued stuff on shelves, or stuff wrongly labelled. Stuff is probably sitting in regional offices aswell. A similar story to UTV I suspect. But alas unless people tell us these things, we can only go on what they share with us.

Sorry Mike I wouldnt have an earthly how to even begin uploading footage and to be honest would be reluctant to do so with copyrighted material. The continuity sequence is of nostalgic interest but to be honest really nothing to get excited about.

there are 2 reasons why I need you to look at the following please. 1 is I have never seen any STV shows, apart from some that were shown via ATV over the whole ITV network, so I need you to look at the dozen or so clips used in this STV upload, so we can identify the shows these clips come from and we would then know STV has some footage complete/incomplete of them. 2. at around 1.39 minutes of this 3.09 minutes upload, there is footage of The Beatles, followed by girl dancers circling, then for 1-2 seconds only, there is black and white footage of 2 men in teddy boy outfits, on the left of the screen, 2 girls beside them on right side of screen with man dancers behind them. I am not sure that this is from The Adventures of Francie and Josie, it may be Rikki Fulton and Jack Milroy 'in character' as Francie and Josie in a celebration/variety show setting. On Lost Shows.com, on a search for Jack Milroy, only 2 shows come up. Both are Missing, with Jack and Rikki Fulton among the cast. One is one of the 65..Scotland On Show 31/12/65, which would have been in black and white, the other is not one of the 65, called First Day Of The Year Show 1/1/80, which would have been in colour, but is this black and white footage, a b/w clip from this colour show? the following upload is STV 50th Anniversary, it was uploaded 7 years..look forward to your opinion and comment www.youtube.com/watch?v=1da6HcacHWM

You might get a shock at the amount of continunity clips on the net, I dont think there fall under the branner of Copyrights material, Heck STV and others let Continunity of its stuff slide and even helps TV pres sites with stuff. I would disagree, I and a few other would be excited. IF you uploaded non lost shows then maybe we would be heading into copyright Shame I would really like to see the clip. TO: simonmoreby That is not Francie and Josieat @ 1.39, after that its Jean brodie, Glen micheal, Now you see it, weirs way Sidny devine show, Rebus version 1.

William
that's fantastic...you've been able to identify them, in such a short clip, now is this b/w footage of Jimmy Logan and Stanley Baxter from a ME that Lost Shows has as Missing? Can you identify the clips from the shows prior to this Logan/Baxter clip. Mike many thanks for saying the shows the clips are from After Logan/Baxter clip, can you name the shows the clips are from before Logan/Baxter, please?

1:10 to 1:14 minutes I think that's A Sense of Freedom a film about Jimmy Boyle made in 1979.
1:24-1:26 minutes I've got a feeling that it might be Ronnie Corbett? underneath a wig and smoking a cigar on the b/w (period) clip between anyone agree? that could possibly help us identify the show?
1:26 to 1:28 minutes is Scottish Passport Travel show
1:28 to 1:31 minutes is I'm sure Taggart?
1:31 to 1:34 minutes is The Steamie from the 31/12/88 ?
1:36 to 1:37 minutes is easy that's Take The High Road

Looks a little like a young Petra Davies, but she always had short hair and is Welsh..yes she's still around., more likely to be a scottish actress? Who is the man in the other period costume drama..sweeping up the girl into his arms..looks like a young Ralph Bates, but he was English, it's more inclined to be a scottish actor and the girl? Did Scottish Television ever do a series about Bonnie Prince Charlie or RobRoy? What could this clip be from? The couples dancing to a small band to the left...could that possibly be the Tommy Maxwell Quartet mentioned in one of William's upload.. The couple jiving/jitter-bugging while others are clapping..could that be from an episode of Dance Party Roof. these 4 are all black and white clips...
