Having picked Web, my choice will change if anything else turns up of course. Fury could well be better than most think. A real tough season in all... Honestly, I expect Fury from the Deep to be considered very good. The first time I saw the scene where Oak and Quill capture Mrs. Robson, I was stunned at how frightening it was - and I was 30! I always liked The Enemy of the World; I could never understand the negative reviews I kept seeing from older fans. Of course maybe as a kid, Salamander doesn't have the appeal of the Ice Warriors or the Cybermen, which could cloud everyone's opinions of them.

Then of course it picks up again to a good last episode ! Salamanders accent is dodgy to say the least as well. It is an oddity in a Monster filled season as well. 8/10 for me Fury like a few others could well be much better than we think....

As others have said, when it comes to this season we're spoiled for choice. I'm still not a huge fan of Wheel (well, apart from yummy Wendy Padbury) and Fury is the only Troughton I haven't seen or heard. I chose Tomb but on the right day I could be persuaded otherwise.
I love the creepiness of Abominable Snowmen, and Enemy is a wonderful tightrope walk. Web is excellent -- Episode 4 may be one of my favorite single episodes, right up with Evil:2 and Unearthly Child:1 -- but it felt like the guessing games went on too long and the ending felt weird. And Evans' voice annoys me.

I picked Tomb because of The Cybermen, the music and the Cybermats and Telos of course! But Troughton's era was such a great time and if you like me can remember them on first viewing back in the day they were indeed glorious to wait seven days for each week!

I'm shocked that only one person picked Wheel so far... I picked Web, but still Wheel is a very good Cyberman story

Especially with those whirring Cybermen noises and the "You know our ways" sentence being repeated in answer to The Doctor's question!

I picked Wheel! Classic story guys. Its a very under rated story ! People cant get past just 2 cybermen were used i think. I much prefer this one rather than Enemy which apart from eps 1 and 6 is average i think. I do hope the rumour is true as it would make some of these stories much better than they currently are thought of by some. Enemy 3 alone was very average to many !

I'm just watching a recon of "Fury of the Deep" sent to me by a friend. It's the screen snaps set to the audio recording complete with the title sequences for each episode and even a nice DVD cover (he's very thorough my friend). I've not come across these before and I think it's quite wonderful. Occasionally the still images magically come to life as the censor clips have been expertly edited in too. Having very much enjoyed the same format for Web of Fear Episode 3, I must say that I find this format far superior to the animated reconstructions. For me, I think it's the opportunity it still gives for the imagination to fill in the gaps. As for the story, it's my firm favourite of this excellent season. I remember watching it and being terrified of the weed creature and Oak and Quill. What the recon demonstrates is the eerie, claustrophobic quality of the story, some of it very bleak indeed. There are touching character moments between the Doctor, Victoria and Jamie with a very much more modern emotional content than I remember. Even the interminable bickering between the rig crew builds to a satisfying conclusion as Robson goes bonkers and is taken over by the weed. Classic Troughton. Marvellous.

Wheel in Space must be the only classic adventure to feature two types of Cybermen too! The two on the wheel and later the advancing Cyber army in space which seemed to have Tomb leggings and piping!

I'm shocked that only one person picked Wheel so far... I picked Web, but still Wheel is a very good Cyberman story I was originally more neutral about wheel until i saw the reconstruction. It is a great story. however with so many other great stories this season, it is hard for me to give it the number one spot. So many favorites. so hard to choose.

I think Wheel is a decent but not great story. Part of its problem is that there are 3-4 clearly awesome stories that season (The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Abominable Snowmen, The Web of Fear, Fury from the Deep), one under-rated story (The Enemy of the World), and one initial story of a classic monster (The Ice Warriors). That's pretty rugged company there. If you put it in the next season, the only clearly superior stories are The Mind Robber and The Invasion. (I always liked The Seeds of Death and The War Games, but that's hardly a consensus.)
The telesnap reconstructions are on youtube and dailymotion. Look for El Doctorio on youtube and greendude33 on dailymotion. The BBC are very good about allowing these recons from Loose Cannon stay up.

The LC recon of Fury is excellent. I had previously read the novel and listened to the audio, but it was only really watching the recon that made me feel to some extent like I had actually watched the story. I think they did an excellent job. I would not be fussed about watching an animated version of this story; I find those a bit off putting. I am a minority in that view. Fury is a truly excellent story, perhaps over shadowed a little by being in one of the best seasons who has produced. I would love to see an actual episode one day.

Especially with those whirring Cybermen noises and the "You know our ways" sentence being repeated in answer to The Doctor's question! The "You know our ways" scene is one of the creepiest scenes ever filmed for Doctor Who. One of the many things that makes "The Wheel in Space" just great If only we had the four missing episodes. I'd love to see the scene in episode 1 were the TARDIS caves in on it's self!
