Haven't purchased just yet, but saw a clip on youtube of Alpha, Beta, Omega ... this animation is really nice. It has just enough fluid motion to give it charm. It also helps that Daleks in general are easy to animate.
Will definitely pick this one up.
Edit: I say "easy to animate". They might be difficult for animators, I don't know. It's just, every time I see them they glide around on screen very nicely.

Galaxy 4 is a favorite of mine. Would love to see more of it returned, but an animation would be great. I know it's not anyone's cup of tea, but I find it such an interesting story. Great acting by Stephanie Bidmead as well.

It will be interesting to see what new insights (if any) into the situation DWM will have in it's latest issue.Perhaps they will clarify the facts or confirm PM's knowledge that 6 episodes exist and the progression in negotiations with private collectors about their return. Forgot about the 6 episode comment. Wasn't sure about that one though. I didn't know if he meant 6 episodes he knew for sure existed, or if he meant he speculated at least 6 more could exist based on what is known about the survival rate. The comment regarding two being held by a collector sounded more concrete to me. (Paul I believe was the one that brought them up first).

It's hard to really say what could or could not exist.
A lot of people like to look at how many known copies were created. However, if the "mortality" rate of these old reel copies was substantial, then it's really all about the reel being in the right place at the right time.
This is why Airlock and UM-2 survived. These episodes are from two seasons that did not sell as well, but happen to be thrown out on a lucky day someone decided to pick them up off the skip.
This is probably also why Dalek's Masterplan (arguably one of the least copied serials) has three surviving episodes ... yet Marco Polo doesn't even have a clip to its name. (Despite Marco Polo likely having more copies made than Masterplan).
There are a few key things to realize though:
1) Feast of Steven was never sold abroad, so starting off with no known copies puts it lower on the list than all other episodes. Still, the "Pilot" episode was found so technically a miracle could happen. (I wouldn't give my hopes up though on this one).
2) Mission to the Unknown is likely in the same boat as Feast of Steven.
3) Web of Fear 3 was actually SEEN at one point in the last 10 years. It's fate is unknown, and it's evident BBC isn't waiting on it. It's survival is probably banking on the same luck as any other missing episode by this point. We just need to hope it is lucky enough to survive.
4) Two episodes were confirmed safe with a collector. They just aren't with the BBC. (Haven't heard any updates on these two for quite some time, don't know if anything else was revealed. My assumption is they're still sitting safely in a collection.) (Recalling this fact always make me sad. I really want to know what they are! C'est la vie.)

Very nice! Shame seasons 18 and 19 were already made, but like Airlock I'm sure these can easily find homes on future collections.

Here's a new look at the DVD along with a video www.doctorwho.tv/news/?article=the-web-of-fear-cover-art-special-features-revealedExcited to see this one come out finally. I feel they held off as long as they could for the third episode. But at some point it's either "continue to wait" or "produce a product". Though that animation ... umm ... looks like a 3D Animation team. :/ Not thrilled by it personally, but it is what it is. What do you all think?

Fully realizing that the chances of that happening are slim... but still...

I kind of hope they’d be last... just to give the universe a bit more time to return missing material. Kinda dread the idea of a Season 3 box set... and then all the sudden the two eps Paul mentioned shows up. Or maybe a Season 2 and then a few months later the two missing Crusade episodes are found.

Out of curiosity, when could we get news on this?
I assume that behind the scenes there is probably a lot going on.

I’m seeing on Twitter reports that Zoom is now canceling preorders of the Steelbook.
Since there hasn’t been any other issues with other sellers, then I’m apt to think this is Zoom shutting down as rumored.
Amazon does have an odd 2030 release date, but I remember that site often having weird placeholders for when the date isn’t known yet. So that doesn’t really mean much.

There's speculation online it's indication of Zoom.co.uk closing down. They are apparently co-owned by Universal which had pulled out of Distribution in the UK?
I don't have any source for this, just saying this is where the rumor/speculation is going on Twitter and GBase.
Phil is feeding vague responses to people wondering if it is Missing Episodes related.
However, the last time I asked on Facebook if the animation is indication of Web 3 being completely lost he gave a direct response saying the animation is a separate from his continued hunt of the missing episode. I took that to mean there wasn't anything different on his side that caused the BBC to produce the animation. BBC apparently decided not to wait any longer.
