There is also the sad case of Nic Jones folk singer, and many others such as the Watersons, The Copper Family, indeed the entire back catalogue of Bill Leader. Basically Nic Jone's recordings were owned by one David Bulmer, through his Celtic Music company. When Nic was driving home after a gig, ever the family man, he had a bad road crash which not only nearly killed him but stopped him performing for decades afterwards. However he needed an income. Bulmer categorically refused to release Nic's recordings to help to finance his recovery and he has sat on the master tapes for decades with them likely deteriorating over time. But isn't that more to do with the contract you set yourself up with in the first place? It's exactly to do with the contract - I love Nic Jones' music but the law is quite clear that the contracts Bill Leader had which Bulmer took over when Celtic Music bought the Trailer back catalogue are binding (see this press release following his win in court over Domino regarding their illegal re-release of the wonderful Bright Pheobus: celtic-music.co.uk/press/2018-12/Press_Release_Bright_Phoebus.pdf). All the artists involved signed the original contracts which assigned their albums to Trailer - nobody was forced to do so, and while Bulmer appears to many people (including me) to have behaved pretty poorly, he is legally in the right.

Some in the US believe that some archive content is in the public domain and they rely on ignorance to maintain that fiction. This ludicrous position allows the crooks of the Internet Archive to continue their widespread theft, and actually have the brass neck to accuse those who point this out of wanting to keep art from the poor (or some similar nonsense).

Fans of Jack Warner will not want to miss Dixon of Dock Green in Paris (Monday at 1.40pm). This short film is from the private collection of actor Peter Byrne and has never been viewed publicly. It’s a wonderful document of when the Dixon of Dock Green cast and crew filmed an episode in the City of Romance. See Jack, Peter and their wives on the ferry, at the Eiffel Tower, with the cameraman and shooting some scenes, an extremely rare piece of footage. talkingpicturestv.co.uk/about-talking-pictures-tv/I can't see this on the Sky TV Guide - is it on today?

It has been mentioned before, but any tedious 'socially aware' references are just going to get deleted...

This has got very little - or nothing at all - to do with Missing television, so into the Nexus it goes.

I've deleted and/or edited a load of political posting on this thread - regardless of my own personal opinions on the matter, this is not the forum for politics of any stripe. Please try and keep things to old telly and radio, and keep the 'alt-right' and 'socially aware' comments for Twitter, folks

Yes. It was claimed to be recovered but was curious if it was lost again as I don't know anyone who currently has a copy. Many times things are given to the bbc and they "lose " it. Are there? Most often audio is simply refused as of no commercial value. Some audio is noted as existing (or returned) but isn't available. I believe there's an episode of Gnomes of Dulwich that's said to exist as audio. The best thing would be for an updated version of the DVD. Or suppose that you have a serious reason, you might try to request a viewing (or should I say, listening) session at the BFI. The last 15 minutes exist anyway; although some say the last TWO reels exist. I have an mp3 copy of THE LAST MYSTERY, so it certainly still exists. And that's well reminded about the webpage element of the site - updated now!

It has been rumored that the audio of the last episode was found but so far it has not released or surfaced anywhere. With the beebs history, I'm curious if they may have lost it again. It would be great if they found a way to share it (either as a dvd extra or on their web page) It would be one of the earlier audios, but not impossible. But what is rumoured? Where and how old is the story? Episode 7 was definitely recovered - the late Mark Brown of this very site was involved in its recovery.

He got disappeared off tv because of his views on climate change. I don't think he ever denied climate change, he just denied that it was caused by man. Big, big difference, and an opinion that many share. Not an opinion shared by many reputable scientists. 1)Depending on exactly how you measure the expert consensus, it’s somewhere between 90% and 100% that agree humans are responsible for climate change, with most of our studies finding 97% consensus among publishing climate scientists. 2) The greater the climate expertise among those surveyed, the higher the consensus on human-caused global warming. iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/11/4/048002

I'm afraid that I have some very bad news to share with members of the forum. Mark Brown, founder and owner of missing-episodes.com, and a friend to many people on here and in the missing episodes community in general, sadly passed away on Monday 24th June.
Mark had been very ill for many years and his father got in touch with me to let me know that unfortunately he was not able to recover from a severe bout of pneumonia and passed peacefully after a short stay in Hospital.
Obviously, our thoughts and condolences go out to Mark's family.

Can I just ask the moderator(s) to check forum membership applications more often? I know of at least two very keen and knowledgeable collectors who have tried joining but are forever awaiting approval, and I too waited many weeks when I joined last year.
Many thanks!
Peter C. We're trying to be better. However, most applications are initially rejected because applicants don't use a full name. We don't for example allow a name like Rog1973... Paul Yep- I reject dozens of membership requests at a time for just that. The rate of real names to fakes is about 1 in 20, I reckon.
