Network have sent out an e-mail advertising the pre-order for the film version of the Likely Lads but on the e-mail appear to have included the wrong cover image for an otherwise unknown release not announced yet anyway which states on the cover that it includes two previously missing episodes of the tv series. When you click the link it takes you to the pre-order page but the cover is completely different and there is no mention there of those tv episodes. I take it this was a mistake but indication of their intent to release the tv episodes too. View AttachmentDoes this suggest that though Network hoped to release these two episodes, they have now found that they cannot?

Are you sure it's an LWT series? / You're quite right - dunno where I got LWT from!

May come to nothing (and may indeed not even be missing), but can anyone confirm the archive status of this LWT drama series from the 70s? www.imdb.com/title/tt1724507Cheers Stuart

Audio Only have uploaded the audio to You Tube of 3 episodes of Seven Serpents Sulphur & Salt along with Nightmare Gas. Terrible quality & almost unlistenable, but it's something. Would be nice if something from SSS&S turned up. Realistically it's the only serial that stands any chance of survival as it (possibly) survived longer than the others in Season 1 & 2 as Thames had it listed for potential export with the season 3 series long after the others had gone, see previous ME threads. youtu.be/7-83bSbze8kyoutu.be/epPazZaYQIEyoutu.be/W80BTT4noRoThese have been kicking around for years, but so far as I know nobody has ever been able to identify where the original, non mp3 quality audio originated from.

obversebooks.co.uk/product/a-second-target-for-tommy/Our good friend the fabulous writer Tommy Donbavand, having overcome throat cancer, has now had the shattering news that he has a tumour in his lung. As a result he continues to be unable to do the school visits which generated much of the income he needs to support his family. In 2016, the reading community rallied round when some Tommy’s friends released the original A TARGET FOR TOMMY, a collection of Doctor Who short stories. Now, some of us have decided to release a sequel – A SECOND TARGET FOR TOMMY. Including – for the first time ever! – the early draft script for the scene in Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary Special, Day of the Doctor, in which the Ninth Doctor, Christopher Eccleston, first meets the Moment (kindly provided by outgoing Who showrunner, Steven Moffat), plus stories from over two dozen writers. Every penny of profit raised will go to support Tommy while he works on making a full recovery.
At the moment there are no plans for an ebook version of the book, and we cannot guarantee how long the paperback will be available, so please order now! An ebook of the first TARGET FOR TOMMY can however be purchased here: obversebooks.co.uk/product/a-target-for-tommy/Tommy’s blog, Tommy vs Cancer (http://www.tommyvcancer.com/) is back online too, and the book version of his original battle is still available to buy too (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071W4HX7K). Check them both out!

Is the guy who appears at 1:52 of the following video the same one who wrote the reviews of Doctor Who plus the novellisations of "The Power of the Daleks" and "The Evil of the Daleks"? www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfhhdU26a1UMost interesting piece of trivia from the video: The members of The Sex Pistols were ABBA fans. No - that's the DJ John Peel. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Peel

how many dvd's are available? I can only find one on Amazon which contains only 5 episodes. (I also found out that the same DVD on Ebay is over £5 more expensive than Amazon!) That's the only dvd, I think.

No,Simply were all set to go when someone put the kibosh on it. It's an odd one. I spoke to Simply 18 months ago and they said then that they had no plans to release series 3, then it appeared for a while on listings earlier this year, then it was suddenly pulled for 'rights reasons' (though it was so poorly regarded by Simply that they didn't remove the product page on their website until I pointed out it was still live). I suspect a re-think regarding the profitability would be far more likely than sudden, inexplicably with-held rights that they hadn't considered.

This sucks I wonder what kind of rights issues they ran into? Lack of sales?

Should it be repeated or turn up on iplayer, I heartily recommend CRADLE TO GRAVE, the sitcom based on Danny Baker's teenage years. Very funny, if possibly somewhat inaccurate (a Sanyo home video recorder, even one nicked out the BBC, in 1973? Is that possible?)

It looks as though someone or something has blocked it. An announcement from Simply to that effect. Damn. Just got an email from them. Dear Stuart, Unfortunately, due to clearance issues, we are no longer able to release Warship Series 3 on DVD. Apologies for any inconveniences caused by this. Kind Regards, SimplyMedia
