It was great to see some of the old Bellamy programmes on the news today in tribute to the sad passing of David Bellamy, they showed a clip from Bellamys Back Yard Safari, i was hoping to see some from Bellamys Europe, which i hope still exists in the archive. Hopefully BBC2 will do a run of his programmes in the afternoon weekday slot, like they did with the Sir David Attenborough shows like "Life on Earth" in the new year as a tribute.

I think he regretted that view later on when the evidence was too great and couldnt be denied. As somebody who had 7 episodes of Bellamys Europe on tape and lost them over the years, i hope they still exist and i havent lost something that is now missing. Ive worked with him, Sir David and Julian Pettifer over the years.

He got disappeared off tv because of his views on climate change. I don't think he ever denied climate change, he just denied that it was caused by man. Big, big difference, and an opinion that many share.

Big, big difference, and an opinion that many share. Not an opinion shared by many reputable scientists. 1)Depending on exactly how you measure the expert consensus, it’s somewhere between 90% and 100% that agree humans are responsible for climate change, with most of our studies finding 97% consensus among publishing climate scientists. 2) The greater the climate expertise among those surveyed, the higher the consensus on human-caused global warming. iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/11/4/048002

Big, big difference, and an opinion that many share. True. Bellamy and many of us lived through the time when the latest human nail biter was not global warming but global cooling and lots of blokes in white coats were saying "we have measured the data and the ice age is coming" Of course in all these things you just have to follow the money for the reasons..and that indeed initiated the insulation industry backed by government grants, virtually every house in the UK must now have fibreglass wadding in the loft, replacement windows or foam in the walls?.. ..although to listen to some politicians today that hasn't happened yet (when it was going on 40 odd years ago) and ..."we need to insulate all these leaky houses to avoid climate change" mantra goes on. Meanwhile, Greta Thunburg and Extinction rebellion will probably want Volcanoes and bush fires carbon neutral by 2030 LOL

Yes, sad to see another of our great British eccentrics gone. I remember him appearing on the Parkinson show, with Patrick Moore and Magnus Pyke.
As for man-made climate change, we've heard this rubbish for the last forty-five years; this has become the new version of "The End Is Nigh!" It's a religion.
I'm happy to put my head on the block, and say: It ain't happening!

www.nzonscreen.com/interviews/screentalk/david-bellamy-moas-ark-and-old-mans-beardEnglishman David Bellamy is a world famous botanist, author, broadcaster and conservationist. He came to prominence in New Zealand in the 1970s and 1980s with numerous natural history programmes. His trademark beard, larger than life personality and ability to make science understandable made him a popular addition to family viewing time. In 1990 he came to New Zealand to host Moa’s Ark, a landmark documentary series telling the history of our country’s unique evolutionary past. In recent years, Bellamy has become a more controversial figure with his claims that global warming is just part of the earth’s natural climate cycle.
