I say don't make statements if you're not willing to defend them. It wouldn't be an argument, I suspect - merely me correcting your misapprehension. Really you had to reply? Just delete this whole thread would be easier at this point. This thread has been hijacked and completely butchered anyway At the moment, it's primarily being hijacked by you. Why not stop digging holes and cease with the passive aggressive nonsense posts, hmm? God sake, the state of this place at times...it'd drive you to drink.

I've seen you've used the "I'm only messing around" line a few times. Advice - just don't 'mess around' in the first place. You're prone to look like you're rubbing people up the wrong way for no reason whatsoever. Because I wasn’t messing around this time I just couldn’t be bothered with an argument so I tried to squash the conversation but then you brought it back up. I say just leave it now I say don't make statements if you're not willing to defend them. It wouldn't be an argument, I suspect - merely me correcting your misapprehension.

I respect the moderators choice to move this post but you’ve kind of backed down to Andy and his inane comments. I would argue that you shouldn’t enable people like him but like I said I respect the decision TBH, I'm not sure how we've either backed down or enabled Andy? We've moved the thread to where it should have been in the first place and warned Andy to have a think before posting.

It suddenly struck me that I should have mentioned The Black Archive on here at some point in the past seven years we've been producing them - but I am notoriously poor at self publicity! Anyway, with another (less grumpy) hat on, I run Obverse Books, and one of the things we publish is the Black Archive, a series of book length studies of individual Doctor Who episodes, published every two months. We're currently just about to publish volume 66, on 'The Greatest Show in the Galaxy' - all the others are still in print, including a couple which have won awards (the series as a whole was described by DWM as 'a treat for your bookshelves' - and we have covered stories which are missing from the BBC archives). You can check out them all here - obversebooks.co.uk/product-category/blackarchive/(we also do a less frequent Silver Archive, covering other genre shows - so far we've done books on Sapphire & Steel (3 books, covering two Assignments each - PJ Hammond said lovely things about each of them), Stranger Things, Dark Skies, Gurney Slade, Survivors and Millennium. obversebooks.co.uk/product-category/silver-archive/We've done other tv related books too, but probably too many to list them all...

Thank you Scott. It was a simple question because I was curious. Ah interesting, I figured they were paid something just curious because I would think the BBC technically doesn’t have to pay them Genuine question or not, it's got absolutely bugger all to do with missing episodes, Scott, and you know it. It's a question about actors being paid in relation to the box sets. And again - for the cloth-eared who didn't hear in the first place - 'how much do you reckon they get paid', is nobody's damn business. You wouldn't want anyone poking about in your wage packet ( if you even work, Jake) to found out 'how much' you get paid, based on their reckoning. Someone lock this pointless out-of-place thread, or, based on Simon's sane suggestion, I say stick it up Out of the Archive's a***. Then we can move on to something that might bear fruit in the ME hunt. Andy, every time I have to moderate something on this forum, it seems to be you causing the problem. If you can't behave, and treat other posters with respect, I'm going to have no choice but to kick you off the forum completely.

Are you determined to ruin this thread as well, Andy? It's ruined when freedom-of-speech comments are being removed. If one can't express their opinion that this show is as wrong in 2023 as it was in 1963, then this forum is as sorry a state of affairs as the B&WMS itself. Everybody knows how you feel - you bleating on about it at every opportunity is just tedious. So please stop, or just get blocked from posting. Frankly, freedom of speech, my arse.

Can we keep replies to George's question on topic please?
Nobody needs to know your feelings on the actual show itself, or on how it compares to shows nowadays, or how people who do or don't like it are some insulting term or other...

Pay attention people. I had to read ELSEWHERE that P.G. Wodehouse was also targeted. What do I come here for? The book in question, 'Thank You Jeeves', has been edited that way for years, and involves removing the n-word. Specifically, the plot involves Bertie Wooster blacking up to disguise himself among a troupe of blackface minstrels - except they are not referred to as "blackface".

Hasn't this already been done to Enid Blyton several years ago, with the Noddy books being particularly affected. Not sure if B!g Ears still exists, but definitley the G0llyw0gs have gone.. And earlier than that (although not a childrens book), Agatha Christies 'Ten Little N!ggers has also had a number of renames and words replaced for 'less offensiveness'. Reportedly not just titles but entire texts of all Agatha Christie novels are going to be rewritten by the "sensitivity readers". Soon, no-one will be able to read the original texts of anything by any author. I hadn't heard the news that all previous print editions of all books, plus all the e-versions and online editions were being recalled and burned/pulped/erased. You'd think something like that would have had far more widespread coverage...

Obverse Books have just released the tenth volume of their Cushing Dr Who books series, MISSIONS TO THE UNKNOWNN. For those who've not come across them, these are a series of novels and short story collections which begin with Dr Who and the Daleks and Dalek Invasion Earth 2150, and imagine what possible future on screen and on radio) stories might have ended up being adapted by Aaru (and, later, Hammer). So far the following books have been published: DR WHO AND THE DALEK DALEK INVASION: EARTH 2150 DR WHO AND THE ICE MEN FROM MARS DR WHO: THE TENTH PLANET INVADES THE MOONBASE DR WHO AND THE CURSE OF THE DAEMONS DR WHO AND THE AUTON ATTACK DR WHO: JOURNEY INTO TIME DR WHO AND THE YETI INVASION OF LONDON DR WHO: ESCAPE TO DANGER DR WHO: MISSIONS TO THE UNKNOWNEvery book begins with a longish extract from FROM SHEPPERTON TO SKARO, the in-universe non-fiction book about the DR WHO movie and radio franchise. So far, we've raised thousands of pounds for the NHS, food banks and Planned Parenthood. A Christmas book - THE CLAUS OF AXOS - will be out later this year, and will again be raising money for foodbanks in the UK. If anyone fancies any of them, they can be ordered here: obversebooks.co.uk/product-category/cushing/

This has got nothing to do with missing episodes, so I'm closing it. And I've added a line to the rules - any posts which exist primarily to whine about wokeness or political correctness gone mad will just be deleted. This is a forum for discussing missing episodes, try to remember that. There are plenty fo other places you can go to moan about the good old days, if you feel the need.

The 3 stories left with no moving footage of any kind. Does anyone recall these the most lost of all? Obverse published a book a couple of years ago by a guy who'd seen it twice obversebooks.co.uk/product/18-marco-polo/
