The very last frame shows a woman in the background. Possibly a Blue Peter presenter as mentioned above?

The Popscene forum lists them as being from 6th July. It does indeed Matt, I got them to alter it afew years ago. Nice one. Such a shame there’s so little left of 1972 as complete episodes. I’ve got what it listed as an “off air” copy of that edition, but upon checking it, it’s just a fan reconstruction of the episode. Both of these clips are used, but there’s no presenters shown anywhere in this episode. I guess it’s just a load of orphaned clips edited together.

I’ve just been sorting through some VHS tapes before they go on eBay. One has a BBC1 slide advertising an episode of Delta and the Bannerman, would this be of interest to you? Also, it’s just reminded me that I think I’ve seen some Dr Who on some Betamax tapes I had out recently. So there may be some trailer/idents on there from around 1983/1984. I'd definitely be very interested in digitising the Bannermen slide and anything else you might have. Would it be OK to send you a private message?
Yes, no problem.

Just how easy is it to rip stuff off a VHS tape these days? I do still have an old video player, though I don't think it's been switched on for 20 years. I think it has a SCART socket on the back. Richard Relatively easy. I’ve got a Freeview HDD recorder with a DVD recorder built in. So I copy the VHS to the internal hard drive, make any edits, then burn to a disc. The disc can then be ripped to a computer if needed.

Just a bit of fun here guys.
I guess most of us have or have had at one time a large home video collection. But what are our oldest home video recordings? It's nice to see the TV presentation/idents or even snippets of news or a closedown after a film from days gone by.
Here's mine.
VHS - Rock Goes To College 28/9/78 (I've got most of RGTC recorded on VHS at the time of the original broadcast) Beta - Old Grey Whistle Test 31/12/78 V2000 - Get It Together 1/9/81
Can you tell I'm a fan of music? Haha! Has anyone got any recordings older than these?

I wonder what the purpose was of recording all that material? Seems pointless if they won’t license it out, even to the BBC. Must have cost a fair bit over the years, plus archiving costs.
Plus VHS wouldn’t be the best format for using on DVD releases but surely better than nothing. It’s a shame, they must have loads of missing BBC shows from the early 1980’s in that lot.

I’ve got the full series as files, but I guess they’re the same ones that are doing the rounds.

Thanks for sharing, that was an interesting read.
Tragic to hear that things were still going missing/being misfiled well into the 90’s!
