Some of the UK-shot postcards were used in the US edits of Fraggle, yes. It's thought that Henson still have most if not all of these segments, for just this reason. Several turned up on the US DVD sets.

Oh, knock it off, will you. It's getting boring now.
(Edit: this was in response to a post which appears to have been removed now, and not to Malcolm's post above!)

Depends on what you're referring to, I suppose. If money has changed hands over the recent recoveries then that's nobody's business apart from those parties involved.
I assumed James was referring to the long-standing claims - going back decades - that private collectors have sold, or are offering for sale, still-missing episodes for large sums of money, usually in the order of a few thousand pounds. There has never been any evidence to substantiate these rumours.

I don't think it's been confirmed that UWM is being animated, but we do know it's getting a standalone DVD release so the chances are good.

And you're making unsubstantiated assertions. Why should we believe you?

However thees no reason to disbelieve this You mean, apart from the complete and utter lack of any evidence whatsoever?

News!
Another 15 episodes have been recovered! They're all off-air recordings, and most are missing their opening and/or closing titles with a few also missing a few seconds from the opening/closing scenes, but they are substantially complete. The titles are:
I Don't Care Catch the Tail by the Tiger The Finger of Light The Challenge New Trash Heap in Town Uncle Matt Comes Home Boober and the Glob The Secret Society of Poohbahs The Incredible Shrinking Mokey Wembley's Wonderful Whoopiee Water The Grapes of Generosity The Cavern of Lost Dreams Playing 'til it Hurts Junior Faces the Music Beyond the Pond
With this discovery, we now have 82 episodes known to exist in some form. As before, a huge thankyou to Neil for his efforts in arranging this!

It sounds like what it probably is: made-up. This is a tabloid we're talking about here, after all!

It's possible, but so far no evidence has emerged as to which version was shown. The only confirmed repeats of the UK version that I know of occurred during the show's original run.

Has it ever been determined where the surviving prints of TP originated? As in, are they ex-sales copies, viewing prints, copies run off for some other reason, ...?

Presumably the "Jim'll Fix It" clip.

There have been repeats, although I'm not aware of anything on C4. Most of the repeats were done using the US tapes rather than the UK ones, though.
