At the risk of wandering…..
As someone with a hard science background I find the SI system brilliant. The interrelationship between many of the units is great,
However, being of a certain age I can relate to things like miles and feet and inches well.

These tend to be close to 100% hoaxes.
They’re easy to spot. Look for assertions replacing evidence. Look for excuses as to why they can’t provide pictures of frames that aren’t telesnaps or why they can’t hand over the print even if someone is prepared to travel hundreds of miles to collect it.

Earlier today, there was a posting on the 'missing believed wiped' Facebook page (I don't have Facebook but the page is viewable by anyone) that was asking if anyone knew of any missing material that was out there (I think it was started by Ray Langstone). There were many replies, including one who said they knew someone with 2 missing Doctor Who episodes and they weren't the ones that had been mentioned before by anyone. Lots of people asked for more details and the poster said to PM him. It all looked quite exciting and I thought it could be promising. Just looked again this evening and the post and the whole of the comments appear to have been removed. Either that or they have been moved somewhere that I can't see. Anyone else see this post and if so, any idea what's happened to it? EDIT - Panic over, it's back now. No idea why it wasn't there when I tried looking earlier (probably my lack of experience of using facebook). Anyway, sounds promising. Be wary if they’re from the north west, Blackpool in particular…….

What “potential trauma and abuse”? If someone had a ME - or two, as they’re often like Krynoid pods and travel in pairs - they could have as much publicity or anonymity as they wanted. The likes of PV have been doing this for decades and a ME could easily be returned with no questions asked. If a collector had a ME but wanted to keep the print it could quickly be cleaned and digitised before being returned. All that’s needed is one, trustworthy, person as an intermediary and, without the mind probe, they can take the collectors name to their grave. But isn't the reality actually the reverse?Didn't PM say he was subjected to the same thing when he announced his recoveries in 2013 and that collectors had raised the same concerns about the episodes in their possession which prevented them for handing them over? PM was identified with Enemy and Web and the story behind the recovery has been a little variable. If I had/found a ME I could drop, say, PV, a note and hand it over. He’d ensure it received any necessary TLC and was then stored in the optimal archival conditions. It might be shown at the NFT, released on DVD or BluRay or maybe put on a streaming service. He’d just say that it was recovered from someone who wants to remain anonymous. End of story.

One thing I find odd about the recent article on Missing Episodes in DWM is that absolutely no mention is made about the episodes held by private collectors even though Philip Morris and Paul Vanezis have gone on record stating their existence. Instead we get a rehash of similar articles written on the topic over the years and a lame lead about a Forces TV of the Ether where missing episodes might have ended up.DWM's take on the subject is still some gentlemanly ideal of serendipity without dealing with the central issue of an underground world where missing episodes are held and most importantly the surrounding potential trauma and abuse that collectors fear from fandom and how that prevents them from handing over the episodes to the BBC.Why was such an important omission made from the article? Was it a way of diverting attention away from this and if so,what would have been the point when it's already all over the Internet?A case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted! What “potential trauma and abuse”? If someone had a ME - or two, as they’re often like Krynoid pods and travel in pairs - they could have as much publicity or anonymity as they wanted. The likes of PV have been doing this for decades and a ME could easily be returned with no questions asked. Well Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes anyway. I go to have a look round the shop once or twice a year. Seems that Boyd QC probably also came from there.

Personally I liked, and still like, the Lalla version of Romana. I hope that the BluRay range has a decent feature on her as she’s an important part of the show’s history and deserves it 👍

But a BluRay Season 17 suggests Tom and/or Lalla - possibly with others - in Paris? Never going to happen ,Tom is getting on a bit and might not be up for travelling a good distance to film an extra and lalla is still in hong kong (and they wouldnt want to be in the same place together anyways ) There must be someone up for a freebie in Paris? Looks in the mirror 😂

It was rumored that countries could have made dupe negatives from those prints though, when copies had to be sent to individual locations for local transmission in places like Australia. Not substantiated though. We know that CBC in Canada made duplicate copies, with the commercials burned in, for broadcast in remote locations that weren't connected to the microwave network - though perhaps only one copy, that was then bicycled everywhere. I assume this would have required a negative - though I'm no expert. This has been discussed before. There are two ways of producing a duplicate print if you haven’t got a negative. The first is to create an interneg to produce another print. The second is that I believe it can be done in one step. However, I think you need to establish when the microwave links were established.

Hmm, interesting if true. I’ve always been fond of Galaxy 4 and whilst I was hoping for Wheel’ to be animated next this would be a welcome and worthy addition. First fully animated Hartnell story too! Mention of Season 17 meanwhile is surprising (but welcome) considering that Season 20 has been widely touted to be the next ‘Collection release for ages. Again, if this info is accurate then the release date, right on top of Christmas, marks a potentially parlous shift in release scheduling. Especially given that many folks’ festive budgeting may not extend to something they expect released much earlier in the year… Perhaps this alleged December date is to fulfil a Doctor Who-shaped hole left in BBC product releases due to a lack of Nu Who material (? - I wouldn’t know, don’t watch the new series having long been encumbered by the ravages of good taste and exacting standards ). Season 20 is stuck in limbo until they can safely get the cast to Amsterdam. I certainly wouldn't be expecting it until 2022 at the earliest. A Tom Baker season was very likely (although most people were expecting Season 15 or 16). I would still be expecting the new series to be getting a release in November/December but the schedules have never really lined up with classic releases. I suppose a Peter/Janet/Sarah reunion in Amsterdam makes a lot of sense but, at the moment, I’m not planning any foreign trips as I hate masks and the situation can change very quickly. But a BluRay Season 17 suggests Tom and/or Lalla - possibly with others - in Paris?

The print was probably rescued from a skip and passed through several owners before the dealer - who happened to be in Grimsby - acquired it.

According to the programme they found the print with a film dealer in Grimsby.
