To counter, I've heard direct from three very reputable sources who state that nothing has been discovered or returned since the 2011 finds, and these I trust 110% because it's their job to know about these things basically! Furthermore, this current rumour you mentioned has no more basis in fact than my little creation on the previous page has - unless you can produce some evidence to the contrary that is! In the meantime, all you are doing is repeating unsubstantiated heresay, so don't be surprised when people refuse to take you seriously as a result. You're not exactly adding to your credibility with your posts - plus, if you were told something in confidence, then neither are you helping your reputation either as someone who can be trusted with such sensitive information of the kind you describe. Once again, if you can't tell all then don't say anything at all. Then both your credibility and reputation will remain intact for when you do have something concrete to report. Thank you for your unsolicited advice on what I should and should not say in public. You will, I trust, forgive me if I totally ignore it. Tony, he has anonymous sources that can be trusted 110%. Unless you can produce anonymous sources that can be trusted 111% or more, you lose this argument.

I've been looking around online for information on the Missing Believed Wiped events for this year, but I'm not sure if I have the best information. From what I can tell, there will be more of these events this year, and there could be one as soon as August. Apparently, this is the 20th anniversary of MBW (started in 1993), so they will have more (and maybe larger?) events in 2013. Yet, if there are more such events, they will need something to show in them, so I wonder if perhaps there have been a greater than average number of finds this year.

Thank you to John F Brayshaw. He does the clear, definitive debunking that no one at the BBC seems willing or able to take thirty seconds in the last 20 days to accomplish. Unfortunately, his opinion is simply his opinion-it isn't a "clear, definite" anything, beyond that. Yes, I agree with you.

As far as I can see, BC (who were far from the first to start reporting the rumours) just reported bits and pieces which had already appeared on other sites (and, of course, Ian Levine's tweets). Well, Tony I am not telling you what to think in anyway. But I have to go with the sources that say this is "bunk" and no episodes were found. When there is more than a few sources stating it's "Not True", "Hoax" then I have to go with what is available. Not to say I wouldn't like 90 eps show up, it's just not realistic for anyone to have found more than even 1 episode, but 90 is fantasy. There is too much "hearsay" in the matter also, misquotes and people hearing only what they want to hear. Bleeding Cool's Story is dead as of June 17th by Blastr.com, giantfreakinrobot.com, io9.com. I just read another that 42 eps were found with Marco Polo, The Web of Fear, Enemy of the World, The Tenth Planet and Evil of the Daleks and that rumor was found to be a hoax too. I get the feeling now is holding true that what we have is what we got, and Terror of the Zygons could just be the last single DVD release, with the Moonbase being scrapped and the Tenth Planet only being a part of the Regenerations set. But as any Dr. Who fan I will wait and hope as usual. Thank you to John F Brayshaw. He does the clear, definitive debunking that no one at the BBC seems willing or able to take thirty seconds in the last 20 days to accomplish.

Dan Hall reportedly (I can't know anymore what's verifiably true!) said that he had his dream release for the 50th Anniversary.
If he said such a thing, I wonder what DVD he had in mind. Terror of the Zygons? It's a nice release, but is it the “dream release"?
If Dan Hall never said any such thing or this was taken out of context, then the issue is not relevant.

By the way, I think it is fine that those in the know are saying very little and such. Should something be going on with episode recoveries, they won't have stated anything false. I believe that Steve Roberts, Paul Vanezis, and others involved with episode recoveries are being truthful.

No, I don't find. Something was "utter bollocks,” but it's not clear what (other than the threaded discussions themselves). The '90 rumour' has been declared 'bollocks' by Steve Roberts on Facebook and 'dead in the water' by PV on here. THE 90 RUMOUR IS DEAD. IT IS RUBBISH. IT IS UNTRUE. LET'S MOVE ON. As regards Ice Warriors, the animated Ep 2 was shown at a convention at the weekend. I definitely believe Steve Roberts that 90 episodes have not been recovered. However, this rumor would be untrue if 89 episodes were recovered. No one will move on even if instructed to do so with capital letters until it become clear what's going on. But, as I said, I'm fine with waiting and seeing.

What I do find curious is that The ice warriors episodes 2+3 aren't listed as being animated on the bbfc website. Probably just an error like the GG) thing, but still curious. As far as I can tell, there have been no explicit denials, so it is feasible that there is some sort of 50th anniversary surprise in the works. This wouldn't have to be 90 missing episodes recovered. It could be a story animated that we weren't expected would be animated. I don't want any surprises revealed at the wrong time if there are any. I'm just saying that I've seen nothing explicitly refuted, that's all.

On June 19, Paul Vanezis called two threaded discussions that were moved to another area "utter bollocks." The comment is somewhat vague and thus open to interpretation. It is not entirely clear. "utter bollocks" is pretty straight to the point, I think you'll find. No, I don't find. Something was "utter bollocks,” but it's not clear what (other than the threaded discussions themselves).

Wasnt that to do with the 90 rumour? The other rumour about a handful or more doesnt seem to have had the same treatment. It was with reference to two threaded discussions here. Calling two threaded discussions "utter bollocks" is just different than saying anything about rumors or recoveries or whatever else. But that's fine. I'm content to wait and see.

If the BBC wanted to do all it could to kill the rumours they would have categorically denied them, surely? I'm not saying they're hiding something, but the open-ended nature does raise my eyebrow. The thing is, Simon, that all rather presupposes that the BBC are the slightest bit bothered about what a few overexcited fans choose to get in a tizzy about. The fact that a handful of people are endlessly discussing the same tiny details over and over again and going off onto ever wilder flights of fancy is unlikely to even register on their radar. There has just been a great deal of smoke over the last 20 days or so, so there are lots of people checking in regularly to see if there might be any fire. It just continues to remain very smoky, that's all.

Where did Paul put this rumor to bed several times since June 13? He called the whole thing "utter bollocks" on twitter 2 weeks ago. Also you can see from every post he has made that he gives no creedence to any of this. On June 19, Paul Vanezis called two threaded discussions that were moved to another area "utter bollocks." The comment is somewhat vague and thus open to interpretation. It is not entirely clear.

Yes, the wording is just ambiguous enough to cause a person to wonder. Therefore, I'm not so sure that the various postings that say that these rumors are all dead, there's nothing happening, and so forth are right. Yes, it's usually a safe bet when there's a rumor of a recovered episode to discount it very quickly. Such rumors are nearly always false. But I'm not so sure in this case. False rumors in the past have been exposed and shut down at least within a few days. By contrast, this rumor mill has been turning for quite a few days now without being definitively stopped. The first Bleeding Cool posting was on June 13. That's nearly 20 days ago. Official statements and such have dampened enthusiasm a bit from time to time, but the buzz over all of this still continues. Paul has put this rumour to bed several times and so at this point there is nothing left to this rumour. If something is found Paul would definetly know and since he says that this whole thing is rubbish then it's rubbish. Where did Paul put this rumor to bed several times since June 13?

This was of interest to me ... Stuart Humphryes (a.k.a. Babelcolor) did the colorization of Episode 1 of Mind of Evil. He was interviewed here ... www.tellytechblog.com/2013/05/interview-stuart-humphryes-babelcolour.htmlLook at this part of the interview ... +++++++++++++ Some months ago, you hinted on an online forum that something happened during the work on the episode which resulted in the pause button being pressed for quite some time, so to speak. I'm not sure I've ever heard the story there – are you at liberty to explain? I really don't know if I'm at liberty to explain, but I can't see any harm in discussing the vagaries of it. Pete called a halt to proceedings in December 2011 because it appeared the original colour tapes had been found. Apparently, paperwork in a foreign station indicated that they had copies of the tapes and so the colourisation work was stopped. It seemed to be a very credible and authentic find. We waited for further developments and about three months passed – during which time I was able to colourise the sequences for Terror of the Zygons. Around Easter it all transpired to be an admin error with the station's catalogue. Their paperwork indeed confirmed they had the tapes, but they were not in the archive, so back to work it was! It afforded me the opportunity to work on Zygons but made a significant dent in the time-scales involved in colourising The Mind of Evil. +++++++++++++ This could indicate that there has been some in-depth searching of foreign stations underway fairly recently (in December 2011). Again, nothing definite, but perhaps suggestive of things going on behind the scenes of this sort.

The latest word from the BBC was "announcements will be made as and when appropriate". Of course, that could mean "when we have something to announce", or alternatively it could mean "when we decide to announce something". Yes, the wording is just ambiguous enough to cause a person to wonder. Therefore, I'm not so sure that the various postings that say that these rumors are all dead, there's nothing happening, and so forth are right.
