Was the 900th edition of totp ever shown on the UK Gold repeats? and what was the date of the original transmission on BBC1?

The second one you mention was from the 18th Aug 77. I thought they only appeared twice on totp too. but the 4th Aug show does appear to be missing. by the way, both were shown on UK Gold in the 90's.

Since the sweet clip exists, does anymore of this edition survive in video?.
regarding the sound - i haven't played the original reel to reel tape since 1978. If memory serves, there are only 'clips' of some 1974 editions on it. If i do find and manage to play it, i'll post my findings.

Can anyone confirm if this edition survives anywhere or not? The clip is Jimmy Savilles link from The Sweet's Teenage Rampage to Andy Williams - Solitare. homepage.ntlworld.com/e.watkins/musictv/samples/(this is an old poor sound cassette copy sourced from a reel to reel tape.)

This looks interesting. Lost Totp Footage! can it be true or a publicity stunt to get people to watch? anyway, here's when and where.... Marc Bolan: The Final Word, showing September 14th on BBC 4 at 9:00pmThis solid documentary on Marc Bolan has been timed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the teen idol's tragic death in a car crash. The documentary, narrated by fellow glam-rock star Suzi Quatro, examines Bolan's childhood ambitions of fame and where it led him, using previously lost TV and radio interviews, rediscovered Top of the Pops recordings, unseen concert footage and unique home movies. Includes contributions from his companion Gloria Jones, brother Harry Feld, producer Tony Visconti, Queen's Roger Taylor, Steve Harley, Zandra Rhodes and more, with Visconti also deconstructing the hit single Ride a White Swan. Just checked the archives. about 90% of Get it Together survives, but not many 'A' list artists appeared on it (sorry Gary, forgot about Slade) Only 15 out of 60 editions of '45' survive in the archive. The earliest one is episode 13 from 26th September 1974. But again, not many 'A' listers on this one either (at least the ones that survive). Some by Bay City Rollers, Showaddywaddy,Manfred Mann, Leo Sayer.....

There appear to be sporadic episodes of Kid Jensen's 45 still in the archive, Some bands/artists included (that still exist in the archive) Showaddywaddy, Mud, Bay City Rollers, Lulu.... The earliest one seems to be Episode 14 from 26/09/1974 featuring: LIMMIE AND FAMILY COOKIN JAKI WHITREN MEDICINE HEAD SHOWADDYWADDY I've never seen any clips from 'Kid Jensen's 45' though.
Here's another little gem that i stumbled across. 26/12/1973 SEZ LES (THAT'S CHRISTMAS) inc Slade singing "Merry Xmas Everyone"; David Essex singing "Lamplight"; Kessler Twins singing "Every Streets A Boulevard" ; Lynsey De Paul singing "Won't Somebody Dance With Me" ; Clive Dunn singing "Whatever Tomorrow May Bring" .

Yes i agree that this is a great clip which resides in the LWT/ITV archive. It was directed by Bruce Gowers and Produced by Dougie Squires. This particular show featured: The Move - California Man Labi Siffre - It Must Be Love +1 Electric Light Orchestra - 10538 Overture Tony Brandon.
