Hi Craig,
I think you're the one being impatient..!
You'd need to write to whoever it is owns the rights to Thames programmes these days, but unless you have a legitimate reason, I doubt you'll be allowed a copy.
Other than that, your only hope of seeing it is if Kaleidoscope or the BFI have any plans to show it, and even then you won't be allowed a copy.
Now, please go into your profile and amend your user name as requested...
R.

Please post under your real name. If you're new to a forum, you should really do this before posting.

Better idea - shall we assume that nothing has been found..?
That way, if something turns up, we get a pleasant surprise. And if nothing turns up, as I suspect, then we won't have had our unrealistic hopes cruelly dashed, ruining our enjoyment of the 50th Anniversary.
That's what I'm doing, anyway - you lot can please yourselves!

Sadly, most of my jokes are obvious these days - part and parcel of being a Dad..!

i still cant see the point of anyone who has got any rare wiped recordings of totp etc ,sending them back to the bbc ,i mean of out of all the lost clips of totp and full shows that have been recovered and returned to the bbc ,how many of the public have actually benefited from doing this ,yes theres been an odd clip every now and again ,such as the jean genie, coz i luv you and the walkers brothers shown ,but that is about all ,even if there hadnt been the jimmy saville scandal ,i doubt very much anyway that the bbc would have shown the full misfiled totp from 1973 ,at least if someone is genourous and kind enough to post rare clips on you tube ,then at least us the jo public do get a chance to enjoy these gems of tv past ,and i know that kal events do show some of the recovered episodes ,like they did with lift off last year ,but not everyone can travel and get to these special events ,so that means what ,it means the shows go back into the archives ,gathering dust ,never to be seen again ,out of interest how and who would you contact to be able to request watching the recovered episode of lift off with ayshea ,because if itv are as obliging as they have been whenever ive wrote and requested repeating any old tv shows ,then we dont stand a chance ,the only time i got any real joy ,and that was when granada plus started ,and i wrote to request ,45 ,shangalang etc ,and i must admitt i got my wish with the pop show shangalang ,but where as granada plus gone ,up to that place where unwanted tv stations go What a blinkered attidtude. Imagine this scenario: I discover a pile of 1960s TOTP on film in my attic. Would you rather I gave them back to the BBC, with the possibility that some or all of the footage may get broadcast in the future, or would you rather I held on to it, thus meaning that nobody gets to see it except me..? I understand that there is frustration that the BBC don't make as much use of their archive as they might - god knows, it annoys the hell out of me that I can't go buy a DVD of Doomwatch - but returning stuff does at least give it the best chance of being seen again.

I always use my real name on any forum I contribute to. I feel if you've got something to say you should put your name to it. If you feel you can't say something under your own name then don't say it. I quite agree. All the best, Lorraine.

This is the only forum I use my real name. Then again I only visit a couple of forums anymore. But then, what do you do if your name really is John Smith? Well quite. Some are more convincing than others though, and I would always ask for some kind of evidence if possible.

I think [initial] [surname] is fine, although of course we'd encourage full names if people are comfortable with that. We just don't want the board to be full of Thrapplewhackers, Roger Delgados and DrWhoFan1963s.

Ah, I remember a series of people pretending to be other people, but this was before people had to register.
Personally, I think we need to have that system where in order to join, you have to input the text included in a graphic, which prevents spambots from automatically joining.
But I think we should moderate ourselves, Laurence, as this is going way off-topic..!

True, although the programmes were still mainly made in colour to begin with.
