If David holman recorded up to 3 doctors how come we don't have good audios of space pirates? Cause the reconstructions used an unidentified Australian's fan Recording. That doesn’t answer the question - if Holman recorded up to The Three Doctors, why isn’t there a crystal clear Space Pirates - the CD release was not anywhere near that.

I agree. Unless you have in-band interference then don't even think about this as a solution. If you've got pure speech to clean up then I suggest using the on-line tool: Adobe Podcast AI (it's free!) Adobe Podcast is not a restoration tool, it will produce results that don’t sound like the person speaking, and it doesn’t work on music or sound effects. Frankly, I think it’s a horrible app.

It’s worth pointing out that people were far more likely to pinch 16mm film prints than 2” VT spools for the simple reason that virtually nobody would have had the means to play 2” VT, whereas 16mm projectors were all over the place.

What are you guys talking about, it was always b/w. Check the network DVD/BR set: the existing episodes, CV2000, VT, telerecordings and filmed inserts, are all b/w. I was refering to the Chroma Dot Colour Recovery process, which can restore the missing colour to the Black and White prints. It's been used in episodes of Doctor Who, Dad's Army, Steptoe and Son, & Morecambe and Wise. It can only restore colour if there was colour to begin with. This was always a black and white programme.

I'm happy the new younger members are taking an interest in the old posts. I see nothing wrong with them reviving if they have an idea or need understanding. However it is also a good idea to revive in moderation focusing on the areas of most value I’m happy for them to revive old threads as well, but it would really help if they would actually properly read the existing posts first, rather than ask a question which was actually answered ten years previously.

and here is the whole episode colorized with a different a.i programme by the two people who created the colourisation program on computer. Almost all b&w episodes have been done by the same colorists and are available right now on Bitchute and Internet Archive www.bitchute.com/video/MhwlNyiX32p2/I still find that unwatchable - the early AI efforts were far worse, insofar as they were much less stable, but there’s still a lot of wild colour variations between frames, and skin tones are still horrifically flat.

I would also remind Andy yet again that he is not a moderator here and that he should refrain from telling us which threads to lock. This is not up for negotiation.

You've got the attention and reaction you want in winding people up over the course of 2 days, so now jog on, Jake, with your patronising comments and pointless threads. This is rich, coming from you.

Should all copies be destroyed? Absolutely no. It is part of TV history and history should never be erased. This.

No one has the right to say whatever they want in someone else's house. If you still believe differently. please let me know your address and with my "freedom of speech" I'll play some 19th century music on crackling 78rpm record recordings. that will give you an amazing experience This is not someone else's house, this is a forum. It's an absolutely pointless thread, this one. It's been established that the musical Daleks clip is missing, no-one has any photo record of it. No-one can add anything to the original query. Job done. Now can we please lock this thread so that the TB&WMS subject can be re-buried. Lock the thread and leave it, just like the show has thankfully been. Thanks for your input, Andy, but this thread will remain unlocked unless the admin team decide otherwise. In the meantime, you can stop demanding that any programme, offensive or otherwise, be wiped. In case you hadn’t noticed, this forum is all about recovering missing material, not adding to it.

I really wanted to enjoy this show - I have a lot of respect for TPTV and the work they’ve done to make old telly accessible, not to mention their recoveries, but the show itself is toe-curlingly bad. IMO, of course.

I remember when Dr Who Magazine had a feature on the BBC archive. this mentioned that at least one original 2" reel which had been used to record an episode of Dr Who still survives, but was re-used to record an edition of Blue Peter. I presume it was run through an eraser before being reused. IIRC, that tape was identified as being the one that used to contain Enemy of the World episode 3.

With 6 episodes found, the # of episodes missing decreases from 97 to 91. Well not really, as they’re still missing until they’re actually returned. There’s still 97 episodes I can’t watch.
