TYLS 11th April, 1964 would seem likely to be the show in question -
"Brian Matthew hosts; guests include Millicent Martin, Manfred Mann (Hubble Bubble), Kenny Lynch, The Viscounts, Al Saxon, Tommy Bruce and the Bruisers, Patsy Ann Noble, Dave Berry, Denny Mitchell and the Sensations, The Interns, and Janice Nicholls. Guest DJ: Jimmy Young."

Just found this rare clip that I think may be missing - A clip that is listed as being from a David Frost show A performance of the group Chairman of the board singing their hit from 1970 You got me dangling on a string Now its rare to find a live performance of the band from their heyday (all Pops material wiped) But I can't find a listing of which programme this is from. Probably from The David Frost Show. from wiki; 'From 1969 to 1972, Frost kept his London shows and fronted The David Frost Show on the Group W (U.S. Westinghouse Corporation) television stations in the United States' from IMDb - 11 June, 1970 US show with Tiny Tim "guest host" www.imdb.com/title/tt1583136/

On second thoughts, scrub that. Can't see 'Stay Awhile'. Definitely from around March/April 1964 though. Any idea of the source of the uploader's Chick Graham & The Coasters footage? Thank Your Lucky Stars 21 March, 1964? Agreed on the songs appearing on the ToTP chart

In The Complete Beatles Chronicle Mark Lewisohn notes the ToTP appearance being taped without an audience at Television Centre Shepherd's Bush between 7:00 & 8:30 (including rehearsal time) on Thursday 19th March for transmission the following Wednesday the 25th (broadcast from Manchester). Earlier that day they had filmed some scenes for A Hard Day's Night, were interviewed by Peter Noble for the Light Programme's "Movie-Go-Round" (broadcast 12th April) and attended a lunch for the Variety Club of Great Britain with Harold Wilson ..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=AafxlQxXKmE

From John's lostshows link I see that only two episodes remain. One is presumably the Nina and Frederik, David McCallum and Jill Ireland that gets dusted off occasionally. What is the other one? This one, I guess. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTRGfTrYVdY

I can remember watching the Beatles on Ready Steady go on ITV with Cathy McGowan on our tiny black & white television. 1963 maybe? 1964 if it was with Cathy McGowan - 20th March or 27th November (pre-recorded on 23rd)

I saw both the first (presented by Keith Fordyce & David Gell if I remember correctly) and the final show but sadly missed many of those inbetween which were either not shown in the ATV Midlands area or screened after 11pm (past my then permitted bedtime). In the ATV area we only had RSG on Friday evenings for a year or so I think. I did see the September 1965 show with the Rolling Stones twice, once on holiday in Cornwall, and again when it was shown at home during the following week. Carl Perkins was the first artist I remember singing live, rather than miming on the show (8 May 1964 apparently)

John Lennon once said; 'Ringo's not even the best drummer in The Beatles...' - presumably in acidic jest I am not convinced that John ever said this - I believe the origin of the quote to be a "joke" on a (1980s?) Jasper Carrott TV show.

I had to give up on it less than halfway through - it was so dull I was losing the will to live.

There are a couple of references online to a tribute programme to Buddy in connection with the sixth anniversary of his death, titled "Wheels" (or The Wheels Show?) broadcast 2nd February, 1965?.
