And a recon from Derek Handley - you might guess that I still enjoy the recons ...
Episode Reconstructions: Surviving film frames, fragments of existing footage and set photographs are brought together with the original unedited audio to reconstruct a presentation of the original now lost live-action production of ‘The Macra Terror’, as seen by viewers of BBC 1 in 1967. Yes, very sad news indeed. One of the stars with his crystal-clear off-air recordings - we owe him so much!.
In December of 2017, we lost David Butler whose recordings also helped with the recon/restoration of DW missing episodes. David Butler's recording of Mission to the Unknown & The Invasion Episode 1 stand out, as well as the BBC continuities and next episode announcements.
RIP to two of our legends.

Cheers Richard! My memory is suspect & I started to wonder if it was just rumour. Thank you for pointing out the reference, time for a re-read. Ironic isn't it that your article about off-air air photos for Evil from the same issue stuck but the recon reference in the very next article didn't

Once upon a time, I was told that in the early 1990s during his final years of DW tenure, John Nathan-Turner submitted a memo containing ideas for the 30th Anniversary. One of those ideas was using the telesnaps kept by Hugh David for a reconstruction of The Highlanders.
I suspect that this is an apocryphal tale, but I thought that I would ask if anyone knows of any evidence that corroborates the story? Thanks in advance, h
