Each to their own i guess. like some people love JNT while others hate him ! There will always be a divide in most things regarding WHO ! I would rather something new ! Rather than another special edition featuring Edna the bog cleaner on the set of Daemons !!! LOLZ

I think it would nice to see both William hartnell and Patrick troughton in colour as long as the originals are around like with supercar and fireball xl5. the invasion and the war games would look very amazing in colour.i saw colour pics from the war games and the sets looked very colourful and full of life despite being the last in black and white. babelcolour's video on the invasion in colour was stunning and looked like it was the first made entirely in colour. Sadly it seems they've dropped colourisation altogether now. The purists will be pleased! That's a bit sad too. I really like their work as well as the other one(which I won't mention in case it would get rob moss angry with me).I wish legend films did night caller(1965).the colourised version looks completely rubbish. The colouring in a load of shots are all wrong. They do exceptions though like with the Japanese TV series Ultra Q(1966) and the best of laurel and hardy(1969)as well as the i love lucy christmas special that aired last christmas.

I don't think that they should be colourised. The atmosphere generated by the black and white taping is one of the main draw cards when it comes to 1960's who. The same could be said of the Pertwee's that have been restored. While I like the work, there was nothing like seeing the Autons and Silurians in old spooky black and white!

My mind says 'No. The original creative vision was for black and white....'. Then you see some of the Babelcolour clips of B+W and it really does look stunning. So a definite no/yes from me.

My inclination is NO for the Hartnells and Troughtons - they were never meant to be in colour. Yes to Pertwee and beyond = both to re-colourize those that only exist in BW and to improve the colour in the ones with deteriorated / badly restored chroma.
EDIT - maybe one each of a Hartnell and a Troughton, just as a showcase. The question would be, which ones? For me I'd like Marco and Mind Robber.

I couldn't agree more with you Michael! In fact I was secretly hoping that the BBC would release Mind of Evil in pristine B/W for the DVD,I loved it so much on the video release almost 15 years ago now. However, the subsequent colour restoration is stunning,so I'm not complaining.

Or how about Space Museum and Space Pirates, just to bump them up a bit in the fan ratings...!http://images.proboards.com/v5/images/smiley/eyesroll.png

I think Episode one of An Unearthly Child should be colourised as a trial basis to see what it would be like. If people like then that should open the door to more. If they don't then that is the end of the matter. Personally I would love to see something like that.

Really, really cool in color This is why we should have the option if possible in the future ! I think i would rather this than some old fart going on about god knows what on a special edition.
