Paul G, Its a good point. This one certainly is a split amongst hardcore fans ! I guess if done they dont have to buy the product ! I dont buy any Merchandise really as its just a rehash of whats already been done a thousand times before ! I think if the cost was right it would be great, and the take up bigger than you would think. Not just hardcore fans would take this one up. I like something new on the market. After all, how many times can you release a dalek ?

Just that some should just try it lol. They might find that apart from S/E dvds that might be it for the old classic range. I would love to see dvds released with 2 dvds, colour and B/W. It would be interesting to see how it would of been had colour had been brought in earlier like the Americans did to their shows. Just curious thats all. I actually meant I didn't understand the meaning of "buy the Moff lovage Mag lol". Just that its all homage to Moff with some, and that classic is overlooked ! Just a rant, sorry..........

Yes, I know it's like re-writing the past with the benefit of hindsight and probably horrifies some hardcore fans but it's fun seeing "what if?" style colourisations; it can bring something to life in a startling new way. Some awful attempts at colourisation have appreared in the past (not only DW) though, which is why I say I would enjoy it only if done convincingly. I know it would only happen if either the cost of the process came down dramatically or someone who was able to do it properly took it upon themselves to put in the man hours necessary (both of those happening together would probably be the decider). One each of the Hartnell and Troughton stories would be what I'd like to see myself (Tomb Of The Cybermen or Mind Robber would be my choice for the Troughton, being expansive stories with "colourful" settings and characters and would therefore lend themselves well to the process; Web still has an episode missing, although this probably works best in b/w anyway, being in the shadows and darkness of the tube network for much of the time). I would hate for something like this to then become the new default version though. Maybe we should just do a test pilot one to see the response maybe. Its just i dont want classic to be forgotten as what else can one really do with the range ? The actors from that time are getting fewer to do S/E dvd's. So i just dont want a rehash with a different cover for the sake of it lol.

I'm not keen I must admit but I wonder if The War Chief really was really dressed in purple?

To be honest, those who don't like colourisations need not buy them and can stick with the default b/w versions. The colour versions would just be there for the interested audience. So, in that sense, it's a win-win situation and nothing for haters of colourisation per se to get steamed up about at all; they wouldn't have been created for those people in the first place!

Oh a fellow liker lol. I bought a lot of the McCoy dvds because i liked the show not the stories. So at least i put money back into the BEEB lol. Each to their own i guess lol. Some think that Matt Smith was 10 times better than Tom Baker Highlanders in colour with all that scenery and Red Coats Power, Fury, AZTECS
