Are you only programmed to say this one specific phrase? Tony, there is no need to be insulting. What I am saying is a fact. No, it is not. It is a supposition. A fact is something that can be proven, and you are no more capable of proving your assumption than those on the other side of the fence are. Continually reiterating your opinion as fact is incredibly irritating. Almost as irritating as the continued appearance of the infantile "Bisto" (and that is absolutely the last time I'm typing that word).

Varied sources and information read on different web-sites then posted on other web-sites doth not make the rumour true. However,if people such as Andrew Cartmel and Anneke Wills have inside info, then it sort of hints at something that the broadcasting fraternity are privy to,and even blase about in their own circle. All we can do is just wait and see if anything is announced in the next few months in the run up to the Anniversary.End of.

I can't think of anything else to say other than we will have to wait and see, fingers crossed. It does sound like there is something going on, too many well connected sources leaking snippets of info.

Tony, there is no need to be insulting. What I am saying is a fact. Except it isn't, as has been pointed out to you on numerous occasions in this thread. Paul debunked a couple of minor aspects while tellingly steering well clear of denying the main substance and has been eerily silent ever since. Yet you keep repeating this fallacy as definitive proof despite having been set straight again and again. Small wonder people are starting to get annoyed by that. Can you lot play nicely, or play somewhere else, please. I'm getting tired of the constant bickering in this thread and my Delete finger is getting twitchy. [Edited to add - that quote was supposed to include Tony Ingram's post too, by the way.]

But, Tony, it can be proved with reference to the thread on gallifreybase.

What you may be interested to hear is a poster on Planet Mondas, Optikanet (a regular rather than a new account and a cynic about this rumour) has posted that he has heard from someone close to people on the dvd range that separate to the main rumour something separately has come back from Australia. Anyone else heard anything ?

I find it odd that DWM would publish a magazine devoted to Hartnell's missing episodes if a whole batch had been found.I also find it unbelievable that posterity has suddenly decided to conjure up a whole slew of missing episodes of Doctor Who just because it's the 50th Anniversary of the show.I get the feeling that people are trying to put an imaginary icing on the birthday cake. It's just wish fulfillment by fans, but hey,I could be wrong! Two points: 1) DWM would not automatically know about any such find. 2) "Suddenly" doesn't really come into it as this rumour has been doing the rounds for well over a year. Thats true actually, as DWM claimed not to have known/seen John Hurt's cameo in the last episode.

Anyone else heard anything ? I am confused.... rumour has been debunked (sorry),but now a new one has come up that you are are commenting on? Perhaps they are all part of same information, just Chinese whispered to death? Let's just keep fingers crossed and hope that mods don't delete the thread as it's fascinating either way

Neither rumour has been conclusively debunked.
The latest I've heard on the big rumour, from someone who may be in a position to know, is that the BBC are keeping quiet as negotiations are still ongoing and rather delicate. This same person claims that a part of the reason it's taking so long is that the person who was handling it for the BBC is no longer associated with Doctor Who, said association having come to an abrupt end for unrelated reasons. Might be true, might not.

And the Australian rumour to my mind may be the actual nugget of truth.Judging By what I've read here,my source and some cryptic clues in DWM,I'll stick my neck out and say they've found POWER 1.Let the games begin!

I don't think even the most insane executive would put Christopher Eccleston in charge of anything requiring diplomatic skills. It would be rather like making Alan Moore the Secretary of State.
