I've been a member for a very long time. Yesterday I got an email saying that online booking opened tomorrow (today !). When I tried late this morning it was sold out They say BFI members can buy tickets after a certain time to attend the event. Members try to make a purchase at that time and it is already sold out. That doesn't sound right.

It sold out in three minutes, apparently.

The BFI members bought all the tickets for the Hartnell and Troughton showings. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case for The Mind of Evil. Not quite all. I became a member specifically so I could have a better chance of booking these events. The venue was already half booked up by Monday night by those who were BFI guests and donors, sponsors and corporate partners. That explains why tickets are not lasting long enough to get to the general public. The BFI members aren't the ones that get the first chance at buying tickets. By the time the members are allowed to buy, half or more than half of the tickets are gone. I can see why you guys are frustrated. Even the BFI members could use some connections and extra influence to get a ticket.

Yep, in full colour for the first time in over 40 years! Shame I don't have a ticket...
If anyone ever gets one spare please, please let me know. I'd be happy to pay a little extra then the original ticket cost; I just want to see this. Ideally I would love two but one was be absolutely amazing. If you managed to get one or know someone who managed to get one but can't attend please send me a personal message, it would be greatly appreciated.

Did Bablecolour or anyone do anything extra after color recovery? Colour recovery works best when there is cleanup afterwards.

So, what did everybody think of the re-coloured Mind of Evil? I don't know if anybody at this forum even got a ticket. When it came time for the general public to buy tickets, they were gone in two or three minutes.

Yes I went with a pal of mine, we were lucky to know someone whose flatmate is a patron of the BFI. Hence the great seats. It was a fabulous day with Katy manning, Timothy Coombe , John Levene Richard Franklin, ansd Terrance Dicks who confirmed that MOE was the biggest overspend ever in the history of Dr Who production at the time. Well it was like watching a brand new Dr Who story and ep 1 just looked stunning, almost as if it was the only 625 pal copy in the archives. Babel colour has blown me away. The rest is similar to the results of Ambassadors of death as it varies in quality, but 5 an 6 seemed pretty darn good in all fairness. Sound issues limit what you can hear in the prison scenes where the prisoners are rattling the cells and shouting over the cast as 16mm film recordings actually compress the sound consierably! But overall, I think the vast majority will be delighted with what everyone has achieved and I for one can`t wait to buy the dvd on release as it is such a fine story with some terrific performances from the main cast especially Pertwee, Courtney and Delgado . Well done to all, and if you have the chance then go to the Birmingham screening end of March.
