this is rubbish imho. also, i'm certain its the poster whos the blether... He has started two threads at different forums concerning rumors about missing episodes in the last three months. This is becoming tiresome. Just give the information to gentlemen like Paul Vanezis or Ash Stewart and let them handle it. There is no need getting our hopes up just to have them dashed later.

not into rumors.. if there is any truth to it, its being investigated. For what its worth, I would prefer ep 3 over 1 because there is more cyberman action in the third. However, Ill take what I can get but i dont expect to see either so it doesnt matter With Troughton episodes being sparce, Im very thankful we do have a lot of cyberman episodes existing.

Take a gun with you.
Shoot the film collector.
If the collector is telling the truth you just inherited a missing episode.
If the collector is lying there is now one less hoaxer in the world.
Yes I'm joking.

I tell you what; had this boot sale been a bit closer to home than Norwich (which is apparently a 3 hour drive from me, according to G maps) I'd have had a mosey down on the off chance...
Mind you, I keep meaning to have a look at local boot sales, but never quite manage to get around to it.

Yes I'm joking. Well, killing the film collector is a bit much. How about beating up the film collector, taking the film, and returning it to the BBC? I'm sure most people would not object to that, except the film collector, of course. ;D

As a rule, very few people inherit anything following the deaths of complete strangers, especially where that complete stranger hasn't named one in his or her will. And I'm pretty sure that one isn't allowed to profit from crime.(Pause for laughter).
Don't expect my book 'Wiped! My search for missing episodes' to come out soon.

Ultimately I would rather put up with 1000 hoaxers than miss one genuine opportunity.
The last thing I would want is someone throwing their missing episode in the bin because they didn't like the way they were being treated.
I think we need to treat everyone as genuine until we know they aren't, then forget them and move on.

You've got a point,Richard. Once we finally got a VCR we were lucky enough to have a friend who supplied us with Australian Tv Doctor Whos.He came in one day,and said that he'd been to a seaside resort on the North West coast because he'd heard that a feller there had "The Tomb of the Cybermen',which was missing at that stage.Nothing came of it because the feller was non communicado. It was at this time-late 80s-that I first heard that a bloke at a car booter was offering to bring in copies of missing Who.May have been Ice Warriors episodes. It's nice that they weren't meant to be original film cans but (expensive) copies. I had the known 'Reign of Terror' episodes on video at that stage, but can't imagine how they were sourced.I watched them once, then they were lost in our vast collection.

will: according to the gallifrey thread, a patron of the forum had gone to the flea market where the lead was supposedly from and could not find the gentleman in question.
What that means, no one knows.

I was just answering the question This is the unfortunate situation with most leads. It ends with a "we'll never know" result.

Has anybody from the RT been contacted about this? If so, hopefully we'll find out whether this is just a hoax or not, provided the collector appears at this boot sale again...

What that means, no one knows. This sounds like nobody has any means of contacting the collector! No phone number? No e-mail address? UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
