Well I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been waiting for a big announcement after the administrator on this site opened a locked thread at the weekend stating there would be some important news on Monday/Tuesday. does anybody know whats happening, the thread has now been deleted and its all gone very quiet

Of course we are all curious! Without wishing to sound kiss ass, im sure Paul will let us know when he has something actualy in his hands. He has always seemed a good bloke and im sure he wouldnt make an anouncement like that if he wasnt 99% sure something was well in the works. Have patience I guess!

For those who missed it, there was a tantalising post from Chris Perry on Roobarb's earlier today:
"The announcement is due anyday, we are awaiting final clearance on the press release because it's a joint announcement between us (at Kal) and other third parties.
I cannot say more than that at the moment for legal reasons."
Makes you wonder what kind of developments in the obscure world of archive TV warrant a press release... I'd really like to know now what the big news will be!

Paul said that the anouncement wouldn't come from him and wouldn't be about Dr. Who. Well, there hasn't been a big announcement from him, or one about Dr Who, so at least that part was still true even if there's no announcement at all...

Considering that we've recently had some "At last the 1948 show" recovered - which, as a proto-Python show, is extremely significant I wondered.... When you rule out Dr. Who - i.e., Tenth Planet 4 - what could be that important ? I wondered whether it could be some Doomwatch or Out of the Unknown - but then, iirc, Level 7 was recovered in the not too distant past. I'm mystified....

Hopefully it will be one or more items that will be very exciting. Wait and see I figure. I wonder if it will be one of the BBC's most wanted like the moon landing or A for Andromeda? Speculation is fairly pointless at this stage I'm sure we will find out soon.

Hopefully it will be something really exciting.

Either that, or its the fabled lost vault of the pharoahs with all of their time travel recordings of Hancock and doctor who. I hear the ancient egyptians were particularly interested in 50s and 60s television.

I'm sure Paul will reveal more as soon as he can! Personally, I can't wait!
The thing that would make my heart sing more than any other possible recovery would be a bulk quantity of Rediffuson VTs or t/rs being discovered! I don't expect it to be that but I can always dream. Whatever it is, i'll welcome the news with open arms.
