A lot of times it takes time to get adjusted to new information when sad.
Based on Phils comments, he has finished searching all TV stations that showed Dr who so I'm really not expecting more.
My current interpretation of the wind blowing the right way is that there are still leads being given to him to follow up on.

In this instance, the cup is more than half full mate! I know you mean well, Gregg, but I am not taking this very well. I need to get out of here for a while. See you guys around. Not a bad idea. If it is causing anguish, best to lay off of who for a bit, do something different and when the dust has settled break out some black and white DVDs to console yourself with. All the best.

My current interpretation of the wind blowing the right way is that there are still leads being given to him to follow up on. The impression I get is that about 90% of people think that Phil has more. That's mostly from seeing the turnaround in attitude from posters on Planet Mondas. The idea is that he really is one of those people who has to be completely sure that a task is done before he can say "I've done my best".At a more mundane level,it means both not issuing partial series when you may be able to complete the set,and not giving away anything, after the problem with Web,which might gum up the works. The situation with Troughton is already looking a lot better than it was a few years ago.

Some questions/thoughts.. Reading the PM forum, from a transcript of the phil morris interview.... www.planetmondas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=3753&start=34980"PM: What happened, exactly with Enemy and Web – they were recovered quite some time ago now. They were located in Jos – two of my guys were with me, who work for TIEA, and I said to one of them, “Those film prints, I want you to put them somewhere in here, before we leave, so that they’re out of sight. So he moved them, and it’s only when he got to the last two films. There was something else as well, I wasn’t quite sure what that is but there was something else. And the station manager said “what are you doing with those?” and took the two prints off him, and I asked what happened and he said he took them to his office."Is he saying that he grabbed the films while Phil was actually there??? Also is he saying the station manager took two prints? if so, we only know of one print (web 3). Im curious what else was taken? "AM: Do you think it’s still in Nigeria, or made it back to the UK? PM: No, no. AM: Do you think it’s in the UK somewhere, or.... PM: Hmmm, maybe not in the UK, it might be in Australia? Australia or somewhere like that. I don’t know that, you know, it might be in the UK. But it was somebody... I trusted somebody and a lot of information..."Im curious if he is saying it was an Australia collector, but unsure where it is now. When asked about snowman/wheel, he says... "A lot of that went on. Erm, it’s not... the thing with Nigeria – it is finished, but there are certain things that we’re still kind of looking at, which are (1:26 inaudible) people talk about, which is again a myth that err Lagos was a central depot for things. It never was. It never was. Lagos has a small station. They used to keep a lot of film or some film there. They had a flood because it’s right on the edge of the beach. They had a flood. A lot of water came in. They stopped using telecine probably in about 1985, err, and I was told all those films were taken, thrown on the back of a truck and taken to the beach and just tipped on the beach. Just junk – just left. Erm, what was amongst those programmes – I’ve no idea. There are no logs from that station. Erm, the only thing possibly – Midwest TV and Lagos sort of amalgamated, so the only possible thing maybe was, maybe The Wheel in Space, maybe it wasn’t. You know it’s erm, there’s still a few things that we’re a little bit inconclusive on that. Erm, but we’ll see, we’ll see. "notice he talks about wheel and not snowman? im wondering if that means something. Agree with JohnA that we should't read too much into what Phil did (& did not) say, certainly wrt deducing the likely status of specific episodes although I'm convinced he has recovered more DW. However, the revelation that there was an additional tape that the station manager also took, the identity of which Phil is unwilling to reveal at this stage, is very interesting. It may be non-DW of course, but if I read anything into the fact that he named WOF3 but not the other, it would be that either he hasn't given up on finding this tape or more likely he has already recovered the episode (the same physical tape or from elsewhere).

Thanks for posting the link. A very impressive animation, considering. No need for Phil to continue his search for the real thing, now that we have this! Searching for fan-made animation of missing episodes is something I've never real thought of doing until now. (Am currently watching the CGI recon of Marco Polo.)

At the risk of repeating parts of the preceding debate, one can only scratch one's head (I'm trying to keep my language upmarket and diplomatic) why someone with access to the Jos TV staff opted to "acquire" only one episode unless it was to hold the main deal (with Phil) to ransom (clearly this failed) or it was done in the hope of no-oen noticing that a single tape has gone walkies...? Just as well most of us have a life outside of Dr Who or we would be smashing our little heads against a wall with frustration at the actions of selfish individuals. I can only sympathise with Phil and his team that such people can interfere with proper commercial dealings. I wonder if there are any Dr Who nuts in GCHQ who could track down the relevant phone-calls or emails that led to the walking of Ep 3!!! Any budding Lethbridge-Stewart who wants to transfer to UNIT courtesy of a bit of private detective work...?

They say:
"This photo was taken immediately after Phil had discovered the film cans and verified that the film reels inside matched what was on the labels.
As you are no doubt aware, one of these film cans - the one containing Episode 3 of “The Web Of Fear” – went missing in between when this photo was taken (in late 2011) and when the cans were delivered to the central collection point in Abuja, Nigeria".
But didn't PM actually say that a boss at Joss asked for two cans that were being moved as a pair to another location in the facility? The above implies that it/they might have been taken in transit to Abuja.
I thought he'd said that he hadn't even looked in the cans on the first visit.Have I got that wrong?

having examined all phil says, this is how i am putting the story together.
I agree that he could not remove them on the spot.
MY understanding that once he found them, he started to hide them so they would be buried deep in the station. As he is hiding them, the manager sees this suspicious activity when about to hide the last two cans. he doesnt like people acting this way in his station and takes the last two cans to his office (not knowing what he has) They are now in an awkward position. if he tells him he is hiding episodes and asks to hide the last two, the manager will look for the others. so instead he says nothing thinking they are safe.
Its apparent that the cans he grab have to do more with what was last to get hidden than anything else. once in his office, its very possible his opinion is "I put these trouble makers in their place" and forgets about the can and the whole experience. Just as with ian's meeting with pamela nash, she didnt remember. its possible this was forgotten by the station manager..
what happens to it next is anyone's guess. anyone in the station could be picking up these cans.. even throwing these "old tins away" cluttering up the office. if someone was wise enough to know what it was, then they could have either kept it or looked online for someone to buy it.in phils article, he says within days in 2011 the location of the find was online. If that's the case, then it leads credence to the concept that someone stole it. I would like to see a link to this article, if around.
hopeful;y the film still exists somewhere to be recovered.
Regrettably the pile is seen as only 12.. no wheel.. no snowman.

Well George, there is a closed Facebook group that you would have to join to read "Phil's article" -> the Doctor Who Missing Episodes Discussion Group. OR, you could just revisit the news article that one of the admins reported and then updated -> www.doctorwhonews.net/2015/10/photograph-of-complete-web-of-fear-and.htmlGo below the photo and read Phil's statement which was the update.

We need to find out who the "guy" referred to in the post is.
This is currently the strongest missing episode lead we have.

saw this online and was curious if its the jos station. www.aitonline.tv/post-fire_destroys_nta_jos_zonal_stationThe one thing i would have tried when he said he knew nothing about missing episodes was, "of course you dont. however we are going to continue to look for it until found and i am curious if a reward for its return would entice you to help us locate information to its recovery?" if a guy is really a greedy guy like we think, he might have tried to find a scape goat so that he could get the award. The mistake was not following up with the station manager immediately and documenting that he had the episode with someone of authority.

I immediately thought of:
I give myself very good advice But I very seldom follow it That explains the trouble that I'm always in "Be Patient," is very good advice But the waiting makes me curious And I'd love the change Should something strange begin
From the Disney Alice.
Much more difficult in Wonderland itself.I suspect.
