The only thing I can think of that's comparable, is when World Record Day was used as an excuse to release a few copies of music on discs, to retain (U.S.?) copyright on previously-unreleased tracks. There was a later ruling to the effect that issuing a few dozon copies of a song didn't constitute 'general release'. Something to that effect, anyway.

Hi all, More recoveries from Film is Fabulous. filmisfabulous.org.uk/southern-tv-episode-recovered/Once thought as a completely lost series, five episodes of Southern TV's 'The Full Man' are now known to exist thanks to the discovery of the fifth episode, 'The Dramatist and Human Affairs' from February 1964. Included with this discovery are two other editions of The Full Man, War Poetry and Landscape and Background. The three films are all 16mm prints with optical sound. These last two already known to exist are the source of the copies that the BFI have in their archive, along with two other editions, Tragedy and Structure and Meaning. We believe these to be the only surviving prints. Paul The newly-discovered episode "was recovered from the private collection of late Tim Beddows, the founder & former Managing Director of Network Distributing". "Presented by David Daiches, programme incorporates scenes from plays, such as Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Terence Rattigan’s Adventure Story, to demonstrate nature of drama and tragedy. The various scenes feature George Baker, Rosalie Crutchley, Frances Rowe, and Ian Woodruff." "The missing episode was discovered with a selection of other Southern Television programmes. These are either superior in quality to those copies currently held by the major archives." twitter.com/filmisfabulous

Given the ossification of the scrolls it feels more like The Stone Tapes!

On the previous thread, I noted:
Aug 24, 2015 at 4:05pm "Now Lostshowed as existing, which is nice.
These productions, which exist in the archives, matched your search.
THE BILL: Road To Recovery (18.10.96) DOCTORS: Road To Recovery (10.03.09) JENNIE, LADY RANDOLPH CHURCHILL: Recovery (05.11.74) LOOK AND READ: Operation Recovery (02.06.97) SOFTLY SOFTLY: Recovery (11.09.69) WONDERFUL YOU: The Road To Recovery (23.03.99)."
Looks like something has gone wrong!

Ditto about continuing the old thread. While I started that thread, 'Softly Softly episode called Recovery [NOW RECOVERED]', I realise that Paul added the last two words, which sound pretty emphatic!
