I watched galaxy four and i enjoyed it a lot but this was after watching the gunfighter(the worst doctor who story ever) Seriously? Gunfighters is worse than Time and the Rani? Twin Dilemma? Time-Flight? One of my guilty pleasures is Time-Flight which I'm watching at the moment. It has it's own internal logic and...I'll get me coat!

A question for all the Gunfighters haters out there... You DO realize that it was meant to be as tongue-in-cheek as Brain of Morbius, right?
I mean, I'm not claiming the thing's a gem but I give the production staff credit for pushing the boundaries of the program, just as I do with Web Planet and Underworld.

I don't think that Brain of Morbius was made as 'tongue in cheek'.Tom Baker may have found some of the dialogue unintentionally funny, such as Solon's line about 'Morbius's brain on the floor!',but it was made as a genuine shocker.Looking at it today, parts of it are genuinely horrific and shocking, such as when Condo gets shot and is then strangled by the monster.Mary Whitehouse may also have cited it as one of Dr.Who's steps too far for children's Saturday night entertainment. Also,Morbius surely is one of the show's best ever villains, with some cracking dialogue 'the Time Lords have tracked ME down!...insolent,devious worms!'.A shame there was never a sequel.Actually no,scrub that-we would probably ended up with another fiasco like we had with Arc of Infinity!

As much as I enjoy the recon and surviving episodes of DMP, I had to vote for War Machines. Of the surviving, complete adventures of Season 3 it is my favorite. Great story and action sequences. Plus, it serves as a nice intro to the Troughton era that was right around the corner.

I can't stand the War Machines. Plodding, mundane and bland. I know others like it - it's a template for contemporary stories - The Post Office Tower etc. etc. It just sucks. Give me a bizarre experiment like The Gunfighters or The Romans ( and arguably the Celestial Toymaker) over the War Machines any day. Then again... I love Attack of the Cybermen so what do I know?

I've always loved The Ark due to the destruction of earth concept and man fleeing out into the cosmos for new worlds. The Monoids are a great alien race which should have come back for the occasional story (an Ood for the sixties perhaps? I Remember when Frontios was first being transmitted I wondered if The Monoids would be back or at least mentioned. Funnily enough I knew they wouldn't be back for End of The World in 2005! Daleks Masterplan and Celestial Toymaker would have been higher on my list if they were both complete but alas!

The Dalek Master Plan for its scope, Mavic Chen, and the cleverness of the Daleks. I had a hard time putting aside The Myth Makers and The Massacre.

The War Machines, though much of the rest of the season is actually pretty good, too. I even really like The Ark, which a lot of people seem to think is rather silly.

"The Daleks' Master Plan", for sheer epic scale. One of those storylines that demands to be remembered and followed. The closest the series got to a pure "Flash Gordon"-type adventure serial.
