First of all I think that the fans will always be looking for the episodes and the return is a big part of the reward...this is more for the people who could care less about Who.
I'm curious if there is any type of reward or sum received for finding a missing Dr Who episode and returning it to the archives. The BBC is making some money off of the DVD releases ($20-$50 bucks a serial here in the states) so I would think that they could afford to give something. The reason I ask is because it seems that if there was a monetary value added to these missing episodes then maybe it would make a lot of more people check out their closets and shelves and warehouses in search of a payday.

It's been discussed lots of times - you pay for everything or you pay for nothing.

Your reward is credit for the recovery, you get to keep the original film unless you want to take advantage of the BBC's archives to keep them safe and a screen used Dalek prop (bronze one).
That was in 2006 though, I don't know if this still applies (the first two do, not sure about the Dalek, but I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem).

There is a Private Video Library that someone is, or was, trying to sell with a few missing things - not Dr Who. Every Dr Who return has not involved money. If you pay for Dr Who you pay for Crossroads, Tinga and Tucker.....

Well there you go. Your guessing there not ! I'm not guessing at all. I know what I am saying to be fact. No-one knows. That's the only thing you can tell people with any certainty. It's always been like that and always will! You might be right in the end. Then again you might not.

If nothing then special editions please. I am very hopeful thats all.

The current BBC charter does not allow them to pay for returned material. It expires on December 31, 2016

If I had missing stuff and wanted money I'd put it on Ebay. I think some Z Cars might have been recovered that way.
