Does anyone have an accurate list of the overseas rights expiry dates for Sixties stories? It was normally five years after the first overseas sale wasn't it? Some were renewed for an additional five years. I'm not sure that any were. An extension was sought from John Lucarotti's agent for Marco Polo -- the paperwork for that request exists -- but there is no record of what his response was! It way well have been 'no'! Ethiopia was the last to air the serial -- in Jan 1971, which is still within the five + three scenario I described up thread.

He's got it on his list, I'm sure! Sounds like a cue for a song (with apologies to W.S. Gilbert): I've got a little list Of interesting countries with episodes to be unearthed That have repeatedly been missed That have repeatedly been missed Anybody better at parodying parodies than me ?

He seeks 'em here, he seeks 'em there The rumour's loud, but he doesn't care It will make or break fans, so he's got to find them all 'Cause he's a dedicated finder of the missing
And when he does his little rounds 'Round the archives in African towns Eagerly pursuing all the latest clues and leads 'Cause he's a dedicated finder of the missing
Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is) He wants to get them all back to be looked at, And when he packs those film cans up nice and tight, He feels a dedicated finder of the missing
Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is) There's one thing that he loves and that is missing episodes One week he's in Nigeria, the next week in Zambia 'Cause he's a dedicated finder of the missing
They seek 'em here, they seek 'em there, In Ethiopia and who-knows-where? Everywhere the dedicated army marches on, Each one an dedicated finder of the missing
Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is) His world is built 'round searching through old archives This episode-seeking individual always tries his best 'Cause he's a dedicated finder of the missing
Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is) He flits from town to town just like a bloodhound In matters of TV he is as dogged as can be, 'Cause he's a dedicated finder of the missing He's a dedicated finder of the missing He's a dedicated finder of the missing
tl;dr: I suck at filk.

Shame the the original sense of the song is intended as a parody of the person it's talking about. No offence intended here, of course, it's just that the words just seemed to fit so well (most of the time)
