Thanks for that Laurence. This is presumably the clip in question - it looks good enough as it is to be broadcastable (apart from the time code).

Yes. My understanding was they had the actual insert on film (so therefore good enough quality to broadcast). Nothing more has been said about it for years though, since this detail was mentioned at an early MBW event (I made notes at the time). It might complicate things a bit if there was a live vocal on the performance though!

Does anyone know where the clip of the Tremeloes on TOTP from 1967 originated from (the source) in this documentary?

Does anyone know where the clip of the Tremeloes on TOTP from 1967 originated from (the source) in this documentary? There was a film reel of it that appeared on eBay in 2006; there was a thread about it on here: missingepisodes.proboards.com/thread/2729/existThe seller withdrew the item before the auction ended and nothing was heard since. To be honest I thought that was the last that was heard of it, but the clip in this documentary passed me by when it was originally broadcast in 2013. I realise now it almost certainly came from the same eBay reel (though it could just be coincidence, I suppose. But I doubt it.) It's good to know that it found its way back to the archive eventually.

Sounds like the source, i remember it now reading the thread. Either it was loaned to the BBC for this clip in the doc' or they have it in the archive.
