There is definitely a BBC press conference of some sort on Tuesday, and the report I've heard from more than one source is that two previously missing *stories* are going to be made available via iTunes on Wednesday, not two individual episodes. Whether or not the press conference really is about the recovery of missing episodes, and whether or not my sources are right, I can't say for sure. But much to my surprise, and great delight, it does look like my earlier scepticism about the recovery may well have been misplaced. Certainly all the signs are there. If so, I will have been somewhat deceived previously by certain people I spoke to about this, but frankly I wouldn't care. If it *is* true, it will just be wonderful to be able to watch some more episodes for the first time since I saw them back in the 1960s. Waiting on tenterhooks now to see if there really is an announcement on Tuesday. (Just posted this on GB, but thought I would repeat it here, in case it helps anyone.) Are you the real SJW? Loved the 60s/70s/80s books.....:-) Yes, that's me, and thanks very much for the kind comment about the books - pleased you enjoyed them!

I come to this site at intervals to find out if any missing 'Who' episodes have been discovered. Are there any new leads?

The Radio Times has always been the BBC's official organ, even if nowadays it has become just another listings magazine in addition to 1000's of others out there. So if the Radio Times official website says that episodes have been found, then I'm inclined to believe it-unless someone has cleverly made a counterfeit web page and made it look like the official web-site,but that wouldn't be possible either surely? My computing isn't too hot but reading the Radio Times confirmation has made my heart skip a beat. This really DOES appear to be the long awaited smoking gun! Plus their official Twitter account has tweeted the article at least three times in the past two hours. My guess is it's a legit RT story

My feeling is we are going to be below 100 in the next few days... by how many I dontknow. But, and I hate to say this, "my source" says two previously incomplete stories will be completed... at least. I'm ever hopeful

I think that just about confirms that the rumour is true. Very clever doing a digital release as it negates the need to issue a DVD (for now) and so I would have thought made it easier to keep a lid on the story.

How is it possible that iTunes would have digital downloads of 2 missing stories in advance of physical releases? All other Dr.Who downloads on that site have been retrospective archive releases from the Pertwee and Baker eras many years after even DVD releases of the same stories,or recently transmitted episodes of the new series. How would the BBC re-coup it's restoration outlay on digital formats from the outset?I get the horrible feeling it's Moonbase and maybe Underwater Menace completed with animations being premiered?

I hope your source is correct, as that would be awesome news.

Or perhaps there are no finds whatsoever and that the event on Tuesday is to do something else? After all, we have been told constantly, for months, that there is nothing, no finds, nothing. In fact someone "in the know" said that all the missing episodes were destroyed, over, the end.
