The news is very unpromising, sadly - Text copied & pasted:
STV FOOTAGE SALES

Replying to @al_Hine
"Sadly not, we've been asked about it a couple of times"
( Sad face icon)
@stvfootagesales is a great Twitter feed to follow for old Grampian & Scottish Television / STV clips - who ever runs it knows their stuff.

Unfortunately I'm not surprised Al (but thank you for trying !)
It's a long shot but I wonder if Grampian TV kept any (written documentation) of the show ?
which could now be in STV's possession ?

Can to this post very late (Nov 21 !) As a former (don’t know if I still am) member of the Deep Purple Appreciation Society (bear with me on this) the subject of Pop Scotch has come up before. Ian Gillan said in a biography of the band that they “had come up to Dundee “ for a TV programme. I have an idea that Grampian used to have a studio in Broughty Ferry, such that he may have been right. I wrote a letter to Grampian TV in the late eighties that yielded a negative answer about a recording. It was recorded and not broadcast live. I still have the reply in the loft and will go looking sometime. 😀

Hi Chrismd,
I hope you find the reply in your loft.
In the meantime I suppose Deep Purple would have sung (Black Night) on Popscotch ?
