I remember at school around 1984/85 seeing a film showing that footage from 1968 of the Wahine in distress lying sideways in the ocean during one of the schools many film afternoons. That was the only thing I remember, the rest of the films we watched, I can't even recall what they were. I do have a collection of 16mm films (about 60 odd) most are various titles and have a few episodes of MASH but alas no Dr Who. I take my hat off to you Dave for the extensive research 12/10 for your efforts! Cheers Glen. Growing up in Wellington in the 80s our class at school often watched films off projectors, although were mostly documentaries / educational in nature. Was never fortunate enough to have a Doctor Who episode play. Then again, these memories are getting on for 30 years, and I couldn't tell you a single title we watched. Strengthens the notion if you were a fan of something that played you might remember it.

It's been a couple months and I was curious to know if any followup could be made here? It was an interesting article.

I'm glad you've asked the question Mark, was looking at this thread yesterday and wondering if I should ask what if anything further had been found out.

Eh. I figured the answer could either be: "No" or "Still Processing the information received".

You are probably right but fingers crossed for a good outcome however remote the chances are.

I'm sure they'll update when they need to. Jon and David in New Zealand know how much this story interests us. Last month they said the research is continuing, and I suspect that's the case once again.

at least one episode of The highlanders survived at TVNZ past its junking date as an ex TVNZ employee recalls viewing the print when he worked there.. his recollection came to light at The Time of The Crusade discovery and was reported in Paul Scoones excellent fanzine
