Perhaps the Beeb should make such a website a reality.

And perhaps they should release a box set of all the (legally permitting) surviving material from the show. But I doubt they ever will.........

I can't see why they couldn't make such details available on bbc.co.uk . If not of every programme ever, then at least of the major/better-known shows. Considering some of the guff on that site at present, a little remodelling wouldn't hurt anybody.

The best we can do at present is sites like this one, and Dick Fiddy's book...

I was wondering what the condition of certain sketches in the 1974 special was. On the "Comedy Greats/Best Of" video the colour material seems to have punch-holes in it. Are the colour sketches in the 1974 ep. also full of holes, were they taken from an earlier (unharmed) source, or are they entirely different colour sketches?

Some of the material on the video isn't in the special. I think the question is at what point did the film footage get holes in it?

I think the film footage was destroyed before the 1974 show was compiled?

Having researched this I can say with a cague degree of certainty that the 1974 footage will most likely also have the aforementioned punch-hole problem. Of course I could be totally wrong......

I was wondering if there is ever any chance of the 1974 special being rebradocast as is, or will it just spend the remainder of its existence filed away quietly unseen?

Is this where this began? This is what happens when I post during my lunch break - I forget about the 2 compilations of NOBA film sequences held by the BBC. Whoops. Must get round to checking them out at some point and working out what actually exists... AS regards this Andrew, I'd be very interested if the 'Not only, but also... PSYCHO' spoof, as I recalled it still exists.
