The only information I have is what I've posted above - unfortunately I don't have easy access to the scripts to compare to the holdings. Anything that was in the archive but isn't now, I would say is more likely to have been destroyed - that was what was supposed to have happened, and it's unfortunately more likely to be wishful thinking that anyone would have salvaged it. Perhaps sadly, my experience is that most people who work in archives are just doing a job, they're there for money not love! (Or they're hoping to move on to more exciting jobs in tv...)

Do you mean at the end? The "Ark Royal" stuff includes a performance of "Goodbye" before they're shot off the deck...

In the book by William Cook it says that Gilbert put up the money out of his own pocket to have the pre-filmed sequences stored rather than destroyed, so I gather whenever this was, some of the filmed stuff had already been destroyed. I also read that Pete n Dud never really liked some of the stuff(notably Conman) from series 3, so I gather it didn't have the same significance as say Cricket Match or Making Of A Movie. Still it's sad though, as every show no matter how great has downs, and to think that just one more sketch or opening sequnce MAY have survived is rather depressing..........

Sorry, my eyes tend to skip over titles of posts - and 'arrival' wouldn't automatically suggest the band to me - 'Arrival' might have, though I can't promise... I'm not having a go, but capital letters and punctuation would help make posts easy to read and understand. To return to your query, I would have thought a band appearing on the show would be in studio on VT - but however they appeared, their contribution is not known to have survived.

I find it funny that the Old Man river in the best of series is okay, but that guy above sounds it's washed out and not good quality.
