Thats the burning question Felix and i am sure people will be shouting it from the rooftops all over the internet when it is announced I am hoping it isn't too long, but if they're going to take a while to restore properly then so be it!

I thought I'd read somewhere that they were being released in 2012, I might of misread it though.

Yep.I'm looking forward to this so that-to quote the BBC News channel-we can get a glimpse of the Chumblies, "precursors of the Daleks".

Yep.I'm looking forward to this so that-to quote the BBC News channel-we can get a glimpse of the Chumblies, "precursors of the Daleks". They're referring to the untransmitted "Evil of the Chumblies" episode that was originally meant to run after "An Unearthly Child", but which was pulled at the last minute due to copyright complaints from the people who make bobblehead toys...

If I had been aware that BFI were showing Underwater Menace 2 at the 'Missing Believed Wiped' event I would have shuftied down to the Southbank and had a gander. But as I and most others were not 'in the know' we we all have to wait 12, 18 ,24 months before we can see these episodes. I guess the BFI event was sold out and that is why there was no prior announcement? Or maybe they were concerned about being swamped by fanboys who cared little for the other material proffered? I think it would be great if the BFI had an impromptu Dr Who day with big screen showings of the two recently recovered episodes so that we fans could have our curiosity sated until they are officially released on DVD. I can't see that it would harm DVD sales and would be a definite sell out for the BFI. Personally I CAN wait for these episodes to come out in x months time. If 'Airlock' had been 'Exploding Planet' and Underwater Menace 2 had been virtually any other episode from Season 4 then I might not be quite so patient!

I've already got mine. Have you lot not got yours...? Oh well...
Oh wait, my bad, it's actually an episode of Party of Five.
Silly me. Always getting Neve Campbell and a Drahvin confused.

Its been rumored that they would make an announcement in 2012. That leaves them 11 more months to make up their mind if they're still on schedule

Anyone know how much of Galaxy 4 ep3 is missing with the censor cuts through it? AIUI, there are no censor cuts (only part 4 was edited that way). But the last 27 or so seconds plus closing titles is missing. (I wonder if this was due to the ABC looking at slicing together parts three and four for a double-up that didn't happen...)

I'll be quite unhappily surprised if TUM in particular doesn't come out with animation for the 2 missing episodes. If they can do it for RoT, then 2 episodes should be possible for any other story under the same budget - plus the release would have the draw of a recovered episode to drive its sales figures.

Oh it would be excellent if this did indeed prove to be the case - fingers crossed on that!

On the question of animating Reign of Terror rather than Wheel in Space or Underwater menace you have to ask yourself whether people are more likely to be interested in the machinations of late 18th and early 19th century politicians-the ebb and flow of the Robespierists, the Girondins,The Mountain,Royalists,Brissonists, etc.,on the one hand, and bug-eyed monsters on the other. No contest.
Frankly,the mind boggles.
