I recorded and kept literally all of the RSG material from the Channel 4 broadcasts in both the 1980s and 1990s, and I don't think there was ever a Zombies performances shown by them. Thanks for confirming my memory, Simon. I recorded virtually all of them too (over a dozen including specials, without going away to check). I should have clarified that I wasn't asking if those VHS releases contained the original ad breaks (we are talking about D.C. here, after all!) but that some vintage ads were included at all. Always on the lookout for vintage ads of any description, I missed on those particular ones, it seems! A friend in the know believes that the Zombies clip is NOT in the possession of Dave Clark!

I also compiled and kept the Ch4 broadcasts. (Started with the Otis Redding special, I believe)
If it's any help, that tape has all the ads from the 1980s!

No, we were talking about the RSG official VHS releases of the '80s with '60s ads, Mark - not the '80s C4 transmissions (which i'd obviously expect to have '80s ads in them!).

A friend in the know believes that the Zombies clip is NOT in the possession of Dave Clark! Hmm, interesting. I wonder how it made it's way into a U.S. Disney Channel repeat!

re the Zombies could it be that DC edited the programs to a certain running time so left some material out

Attached is a Disney Channel listing. Here's the best part: The 1989 Disney Channel broadcasts began with a filmed intro by Dave Clark himself! These intros probably lasted only a minute at most. But DC talked so slowly that they seemed like an eternity. A year later, when Disney repeated the series, Dave Clark's intros were thankfully missing. Attachments:
