I'm glad I found this site. Just been looking down the history of posts and you have sure covered a lot of ground. I am not sure if these series are covered any where but I don't hear much of them any more. I was trying to see if episodes of FiveO Clock Club still survive anywhere. It's one I saw in my childhood. Also episodes of adventure series Orlando with Sam Kydd. I can see I'm going to have fun here as you talk about exactly the sorts of things I'm interested in. There's lots more I'd like to pick everyone's brains about but plenty of time for it all!

You should try the 'Lost Shows' database at www.lostshows.comIt's a great resource for finding out what is and is not in the archives. Charles Norton

Thanks Charles. Nothing seems to come up for FiveO Clock Club at all. It only seems like two Orlando out of 76 exist as well. At least it's two more than nothing. Can anybody else help with FiveO Clock Club please? Growing up in the London region I can remember these more than a lot of things.
It is a good database you suggest but it only lists what is missing in a lot of cases and not what does. So if a person isn't familiar with the series as a whole, it is difficult to get to grips with.
It seems like I missed a great gig with the Bob Monkhouse screening on 24th October too. Did anyone attend?

The nearest you'll get is the brilliant spoff in Do Not Adjust Your Set. The Bob evnt was marvellous. Go and have a look at Kaleidoscope televison's website.

Dave.
I find its comforting to assume that nothing exists of Rediffusion programmes and then be pleasantly surprised when something turns up. The master archive of Rediffusion just vanished into thin air sometime in late 1968, but occasionally personal and foreign copies of the programmes do surface.
The 5 oclock club was probably done live anyway and therefore no record made, but it would be nice to see Muriel, Fred Barker ,Wally and all again eh?

I'd very much love to watch a Five O Clock Club again too! In fact, it would be in a top twenty list of programmes i'd dearly most want to see (along with some '60s TOTP, Colour Me Pop and the first two series of Ace Of Wands etc. etc.). As Peter says, it most likely went out live although there's always a chance of a t/r being made for some reason or other. Stranger stranger things have happened. The Rediffusion archive is in a sorry state but things do turn up from time to time. I can even remember the theme and title sequence!
Welcome to Missing Episodes, by the way, Dave.

Footage of Ollie Beak still exists from his 4th decade in the business! (Get it Together 1981)

Ah, yes, that's right! Ollie (and sometimes Fred) was also a regular later on Lift Off, I seem to remember. He used to pop up to talk to Ayshea. I wonder if he features in either of the two surviving shows? They were Rediffusion regulars and I recall them popping up in the studio between children's programms in the '60s to chat with Muriel Young (usually just after Small Time and before whatever was on at 5pm), in much the same way he did later with Ayshea. Willum also did this regularly. Another one i'd like to see again is The Musical Box with Wally Whyton - the BFI listings claim one item existing from this!

I see a lot of you remember the same things as me! Thank you to all for replying to my message. I can confirm that Ollie and Fred did often appear on Lift Off With Ayshea as part of the supporting cast. What I'd give to see some of these now.
Has anyone seen those Orlando episodes that are existing? What stories are they? Another one I can remember from about that time is Sexton Blake with Laurence Payne. I know most of those are gone now but I'm surprised that the later Thames ones aren't around still.
Then there's girl thingy cat Willum and I used to have an annual featuring him and his face is etched in my brain. What are the chances of the episode of The Musical Box that Laurence mentions being shown at an event? I've looked through the database of the B.F.I. a few times but seen no mention of this. So it's a real bonus that it even exists.

I doubt though if its the full adventure ? its a puzzle though why even the in colour episodes of Sexton Blake were not kept . It was very well made considering it was for children and according to some sources lawrence payne lost an eye in a sword fight. So the very least thames or abc could have done was kept some of the show as a tribute to his great sacrifice.
