I would like to go visit thier archives. I just sent off an e-mail to see exactly how much uncatalogued material they have in thier archives, and how to best go about viewing the material. But, if I can make it out there to view thier archives, that would be really neat. This archive also has alot of CBC related materials listed in thier database dating backto the early 1950's. So the chances of finding something of interest are really quite high. I will keep you updated.

Yep just a quick look at canada's archive i made years ago.. they had this .. and i stress it was a VERY VERY quick look like 5%
That was the week that was 1965-01-22 1963-05-26
Take 30 1963-03-08 plus 7 others
The Lively Arts Lots and Lots
Title: [Newman, Sydney - Interview] 1966
Film can labels identify this as a CBC interview but the film leader reads BBC Television.
SCAN 1960-04-14 (Example Date) PROFILE rebroadcast BBC and NBC programs. They Have almost 100 of these. any missing BBC stuff (like interviews etc)
seven-o-one 60-63 (looks like full run 100's of TR's) again it states "rebrodcast BBC NBC..." so may have Chunks of lost bbc stuff?
The Eric Sykes Show 1962-09-18 1x 16MM COMP Black & White KINE NEG 1x 2 IN SOF Black & White IVC 9K (30:00)
The Jo Stafford Show ATV 1963-04-25 Guests Benny Hill, Kenneth Connor, Peter Lawford 1962-12-20 Harry Secombe 1963-02-28 1963-01-24 Ella Fitzgerld 1963-05-16 1963-03-21 EH? Graham Stark, Patricia Hayes, Jimmy Green, Leslie Bates, Michael Stainton, Lionel Blair, Jack Parnell, Peter Sellers ,...Peter sellers!! Spike milligan gets a credit too
I was looking for comedy hence thats what i have listed and all may exist in britan and have never been lost.. but hey it looks promising.. and how bout that 66 intervew with sydney neman eh!!

Hey Ade, what about this bit of info you stated:
seven-o-one 60-63 (looks like full run 100's of TR's) again it states "rebrodcast BBC NBC..." so may have Chunks of lost bbc stuff?
Is there any way to check back on that, it looks promising.
Lance.

no, No way of checking Now I did a massive Canadian archive search via the web a few years ago and back then their archive listed EVERY holding no it ONLY lists specific Canadian stuff.. shame .. I had a HUGE txt file of what i thought would be interesting to research shows. but lost the txt file some time ago and all i had left is what i just posted here ( it was meant for a comedy forum)
so does anyone have Real access to the Canadian archives?

this might sound a little outrageous at first but it does make sense.since t.v began we,ve been sending t.v signals out into space.the oldest signals having reached the furthest. i,m sure it is possible for radio telescopes to pick up these signals.apparently more often than not these telescopes when searching for alien life out there they always come across a t.v signal instead. please reply your thoughts on this. it is outside the normal way of thinking i know but why not?

sorry i should add just in case it is not clear, these t.v signals would contain all old televised programmes including all missing episodes of dr.who.

You're right, it is outrageous. Radio signals travel at the speed of light, they are also travelling away from an Earth in constant motion around the sun. To somehow intercept them would mean another signal not only acceding the speed of light but covering all directions too! So unless you know something about theoretical physics that the rest of us (i.e. the population of the world) don't, I would put that idea on hold. Incidentally, if you do, your time would be better spent producing a paper on the matter and winning yourself a Nobel Prize!

I would also like to put on the table that should you somehow achieve this, may I suggest that your time spent floating up in space might be better spent finding out if Christ was ressurected, or finding out who shot JFK, than trying to tune into an episode of 'The Underwater Menace'. That's just me, though.
Although, if you're up there, could you have a peak and see if Theo Jones really did take my pencil case in 1983? Ta.

I would presume that if you could get that far into space that fast you could also check out lightwaves from earth's ancient history. Or watch old Hancocks, whichever.
