Just curious...there was a rumour ages back that Bill Hartnell had a film copy of The Daleks' Masterplan #7 that he'd watch every Christmas. His fave episode, apparently. Has anyone asked his family if they've had a look for it? S'highly unlikely it'd still be around, if it was ever there, but if BIll DID have a copy I doubt it'd be something the Hartnell clan would've chosen to throw away.

I believe that what he had was a ten minute extract from episode two of Dalek Invasion of Earth which ended up at the BFI.

Hiya Jeff Unfortunately this episode was never telerecorded and the VT (the only known copy) was wiped sometime in 1967. Bugger...

Episodes 1, 2, 4, 5, 8 and 9. Episodes 3 and 6 were wiped nearly 18 months later on 31 January 1969, with 10, 11 and 12 going six months after that on 17 July. Richard

Richard Was there any logic to the junkings of these or where they entirley random? Based on the evidence, it does seem pretty random and illogical. Whether this is a curse or blessing, I don't know, but there have been a lot of fortunate recoveries due to the apparent inefficiency of the junking, so I'd dare to say it might be a blessing (definitely in disguise!). By fortunate recoveries, I mean prints that were misfiled, lost, forgotten about, unaccounted for, stolen and so on. One wonders what the current state of the archive would be today and how many episodes would have been recovered if the junking was a lot more efficient that it was...

Some contractual thing...? Jon

This is bizarre - for some reason Dennis Sp--ner's name gets jumbled into Sthingyer... Proboards have a... curious word filter, which automatically censors "offensive" words. Some of the words it filters are laughable and the replacements it uses are equally laughable.
