Well then thats it ! His failure to respond proves he must be hiding something. Nonsense. It doens't prove anything other than he isn't responding to the emails.. Maybe he sold them already. Maybe he doesn't want to be bothered by people who are asking silly questions. Maybe that web site is not properly forwarding the emails to him... Who knows... The chances of him having any missing TV are miniscule.

He probably killfiled any e-mails with any reference to Dr Who in it. Had you been less specific, you might have got somewhere.. All I mentioned in my email was that I was interested in 1960s TV shows, nothing about missing programmes and the like.

That is probably the best thing to inquire about now, but it seems like all the e-mails people send out are just being bounced back. Maybe the seller is only accepting a few e-mails. I wrote him a e-mail asking what he had in his collection, and that e-mail was not bounced back to me. So, he could reply back, but I doubt that he will. If he does reply back I would be quite surprised, to say the least. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens next.

Do you all really think it is a good idea to pull out the name of a random person selling what could be a load of family movies and deluge him with hundreds of emails ? If he hasn't responded to one person, is he likely to respond to 10 ? Is this really the best way to find missing TR's ?

"Deluge him with e-mails?"
If he didn't want people to contact him he wouldn't have advertised the fact that he is selling loads of old TV and films.
He obviously knows by not listing naything he owns that he's gonna get loads of enquiries.

So, no one has heard a word from this guy? Has the main site been contacted to see if they can contact that seller?

Lance -- I wouldn't get your hopes up... There are a lot of 16mm film collectors out there, and most of them don't have any Dr. Who episodes at all - never mind missing ones... No harm in asking though, I was always told "if you don't ask, you don't get" Regards

Lance, I would try and get someone with connections to the BBC to try, he is more likely to respond to that person than just any old tom dick or harry. The trouble is no ONE connected with the BBC is likely to try or think its worth the effort. If I was you Lance I would get hold of Ian Levine, I no doubt he would have a go, in fact I'm certain he would. Ask around and see if you can get some contact email for him Lance, he is good friends with Paul Vanezis I belive. Regards

I recently contacted the administrator of Preloved.com and he sent me a reply back saying that he could not contact the seller, but that the seller does have a phone number. He gave me the phone #, and I was wondering if someone in the UK might be able to make a call, and see if he can be contacted. I do not want to post the # here on the site ( As not to overwhelm this guy ), so If you are interrested in making the call send me a private message.
Thanks, Lance

This is ridiculous. Why are you trying to harass this poor seller. If he wanted to respond, he would have done so.
There is virtually NO CHANCE that he has anything even remotely of interest, and yet people here are treating it as if this was some sort of treasure trove of missing BBC programs.

Calm down man, I was not harrassing anybody I merely contacted the webmaster about this seller. And even the webmaster said in the e-mail that they were also having problems with contacting this seller. And said to try the phone #, and also that the uk has been expirencing a lot of computer hacking from Nigeria, stating that they reside in the USA. Also, the seller stated on his advert that he had HUNDREDS of 8/16mm films, and he resides in the UK. A slim chance at best I will admit. This guy may have no telerecordings, but we will not know until someone can contact him and get a product list. Do you know any other way that may be accomplished?
Lance.

Well, for one I would not be using 'preloved.com' , especially if they hand out peoples phone numbers to whoever asks for it.
Lance, this guy has not responded to numerous emails which have been spammed in his direction. If he was interested in sharing information on what he has then (as he is supposidly a seller) then I am sure he would have been back in contact. The fact he hasn't (and even 'preloved' have had difficulty contacting him) then either he no longer cares to sell, fed up with all the email he has been receiving or has moved on somewhere else.
Whatever, I'd guess he would not take too kindly to people phoning him up out of the blue so be careful with what you do with his telephone number and who you hand it too.
The last thing you want to do is harass the guy.

It should be noted that the chap's number is displayed on the site anyway; and for it to be displayed you have to tick a box that says "Publish telephone number with my adverts".

Still, I reckon the owner of 'Preloved' must be rubbing his hands with glee. His site must have had more hits recently then its had in a long while
