I mentioned the "army" angle some months ago, thinking about British servicemen abroad, for example British Army on the Rhine (BAOR) in Germany. Can't for the life of me see how to investigate this though! Any ideas? Possibly not terribly useful, but the official magazine of the British Army has a web site at www.soldiermagazine.co.uk/Perhaps a letter to the editor asking if anyone remembers seeing Doctor Who or anything else of interest? There's a thread on the RT Forum which mentions the BFBS; they wiped all their stuff in the 80s.

Meanwhile, I bought a bunch of films (yes, from Australia) and ended up with a couple of python FRs. If you bought it off Caisley or Chicken Man, it's almost certainly the same print.

This is typical Big brother tactics which totally ruin these boards. Some miserable sod doesn't like it and so spoils it for the rest who like to keep a breast of events, whether true or not. These are supposed to be discussion boards at the end of the day and I hope the inflated ego's of the mods are happy and smug with themselves. I think we all know that the latter is probably true. Not at all George. As the moderator who deleted the thread I can say I never feel smug about this sort of thing. Throw the insults around all you like. The thread was deleted because it was going nowhere and personal information was beginning to creep in. Add to this the clear evidence that it was all rubbish and you come to the obvious conclusion that it had no place here at all. It was only left up for it's entertainment value. Of course, I will be celebrating if it does turn out to be true, but I suspect that will only occur in people's dreams. My regards, Paul

Paul, don't you think the fans always show great reticence? So, for example, that well known fictional film collector James Maxwell is listed in the London Directory (020 7633 9194). That's no secret. He may well be sitting on his four seater sofa this very moment watching Patrick Troughton batting giant crabs.

If he's fictional, does it matter what he is watching!

Being a true Doctor Who fanatic, you automatically develop the ability to believe any old crap.
e.g - Patrick Troughton's Stove Pipe Hat is now preserved in a glass case in the Science Museum - some fan would probably believe that and might even ask to see it!

Hey
Any more news on that "Bernie Kent" in Australia having any missing episodes or not? And dont you think it is about time for a troughton episode to be found? The last recent two "The Lion" and "Day of Armageddon" Hartnell, some Troughton episodes would be nice also.
Thanks
ps: Any episode rumors about any Troughton material being held by a collector, or a fan?

I've been looking for a post I saw on the missing episodes forum several months ago. It was from a regular poster on here who stated something about collectors that still had material including the lost sci fi. I was really suprised at the time that no one asked about that or anything else was said. I don't want to name names or cause anything but I've always been curious about that. I mean what sci fi was he refering to? Is it a definate no that the collectors refuse to give it back? Or is it just nothing at all? I've been looking back through several posts to try and find it but no luck yet.

Just curious if you have had any luck lately on that thread of sci-fi archive, that would be really cool to investigate it sounds like a possible lost episode revenue! Would a member please say something on this subject!! This might benefit all those loyal Doctor Who fans out there.
Thanks, Lance.
