This is typical Big brother tactics which totally ruin these boards. Some miserable sod doesn't like it and so spoils it for the rest who like to keep a breast of events, whether true or not. These are supposed to be discussion boards at the end of the day and I hope the inflated ego's of the mods are happy and smug with themselves. I think we all know that the latter is probably true.

I didn't delete it (or read it either) but from what i hear home addresses and telephone numbers were starting to be dished out, which is probably why one of the other mods killed it.

I think they deleted it beacuse they might look like idiots if it turns out to be true. Theres going to be a lot of apolgies if the episodes turn up. Besides I have Bernie Kents Address now so one way or another I shall find out the truth, and then its up to the so called experts weather they accept the truth.

I believe it was deleted like Mark said.
On the Restoration team website the gentlemans home details etc were posted.
There was an arguement that this info was available on the web if you looked, but Bernie has had no choice in having this information thrust into the spotlight.
How many people saw his details before it was deleted and decided to drop him an email, write him a letter, or worse, pop round and knock on his door?
There was some on this very forum and on this very thread.
I agree with george, and wished the thread had not been deleted, as the thread here was just a little bit of jolly banter if it was a hoax or not.
But there was a danger that it would certainly escalate to something else.
I certainly agree with Staurt on the posting above from Stephen ( no relation and no offence intended,)
But I think that posting is certainly wrongly worded.
What would happen if this chap turned round and told everyone to mind their business?
He is in his right to do so.
A best this is an invasion of privacy, and at worst you could argue it as Harrassment.
This kind of action, albeit full of good intent, can have a reverse effect.
As there is no-one in an official position to deal with this, give the details to Dick Fiddy.
And let him deal with it if he feels there is enough reason or evidence.
I feel that what ever the Bernie chap says if anything on the subject, some will not believe a word he says.
I, like many, hope this is a credible episode find, but the feeding frenzy surrounding it is enough to put others off from admitting they had missing material.

Who said about going to people homes Stuart, I'm in the Uk and Bernies in Australia, bit far to go don't you think. Instead I shall write him a nice polite letter. And I diden't get Bernies Address from this forum, I got it from elsewhere.

Rubbish! it was internal politics that caused the whole thread to be deleted, if it was addresses being splashed on here that caused the problem then just those posts therselves and not the thread was deleted.
