Well it's all very well for you lot to start squabbling about running orders (I'll smack some bottoms!) BUT wer'e getting away from the point of the mystery WHY! won't TOTP2 show any clips from this show? Now come on everyone and let's have a cogitate about it. Fred The Ferret

I expect the lack of specific clips in TOTP2 is due simply to the show's researchers not being very thorough when scouring what's available in the archive! It needs someone to do the job of digging out material that actually has an interest in the subject and a bit of enthusiasm.

If you remember pre-Database days when we just had the Presenters List on the TOTP2 site, no entry was listed for this edition (and still isn't). Is this a coincidence, or were (are?) the TOTP2 Production Team genuinely unaware of the existence of this edition?
Showing some of the performances from this edition would help dispel the doubts - I've only ever seen the Pickettywitch performance which was included on the 2nd Telstar "25 Years of TOTP" video.

It wasn't on the database that Edward kindly sent me last year either (the one that just listed existing editions). However, there was a short clip of the Dave Clark Five performance on the 20th anniversary edition of TOTP (5/1/84). I'd love to see the Kenny Rogers performance at some point as "Something's Burning" is my favourite song of his.

I cant think of a practical reason why they hav'nt been shown unless there is some renegotiating to be done
these have been shown in part or in full
Mary Hopkin / Pan's People Temma Harbour Pickettywitch That Same Old Feeling Steve & Albert Follow The Bouncing Ball White Plains My Baby Loves Loving
I cant see that the performers have a problem so perhaps they avoid too many b/w some have been shown so they are good enough quality a good reason has already been put forward, they just don't know that it exists. the documentaries need researchers and people with a genuine interest and knowlege of the show and performers perhaps totp2 doesn't

Can't bring any light to why they aren't showing any clips, but I'd though I'd bring to the discussion that this episode is the one with a bearded Peter Davison in the crowd of indifferently boppers.
They had a clip of it on his 'This is Your Life' back in 1982.

Check out the TOTP2 lineup for next Tuesday, if you haven't already!! After several requests on the TOTP2 Message Board, Kenny Rogers & The First Edition "Something's Burning" is scheduled to be shown which assuming its the 26.2.70 studio performance rather than the 26.3.70 promo video, will be the first time that anything from this edition has ever been shown on TOTP2!!

Sounds great Mark - but! let's wait and see; remember the Pickettywitch mess up? I really hope the jinx on 26/2/70 is finally broken as what's the point of storing the episode if you're not going to make use of it? In anticipation - hopeful Al Smith.

It would be nice if the other "Crazy Horses" clip could be shown. ASM

As you will probably know by now, the Kenny Rogers clip was shown, and very good it looked too, although I do wish it was possible to see how it looked in colour as originally broadcast.
Hope for some more stuff from the early 1970s editions to be shown soon that hasn't been repeated before.

there you go the flying fickle finger of fate beat its wings but landed on the beatles as the totp banner on the clip stated, a rarley repeated kenny rogers performance. Call me crazy but it looked as if it had been cleaned up , also since early colour tv was balanced for bw there is plenty of contrast which should make colourisation much easier.(don't call me crazy

Wehey! At last a clip from 26/2/70. Hope it's not another nine years before another from this show. Regarding colourisation; if there were colour copies of clips as with the 29/2/70 show then it would be easy. But with no template so to speak from this episode it may be quite a task. The BBC had problems with a "Dr Who" story "Ambassadors Of Death" where the Sony Umatic colour was too weak in places to give an accurrate guide. Personally i'm wary of colourised material "All You Need Is Love" is too pastel slanted for me, it resembles those chalk crayons that schools used to use. ASM
