Ah, I haven't seen the Yahoo listing.
I may be getting my Blue Mink songs mixed up here (it's a long time since i've heard either of them!) Which one has the line "brand new day" in it then?

Not sure, Laurence. I'm only really familiar with "Melting Pot".
Oh, and the Tremeloes song is "Me & My Life".

Thanks, Neil for passing on my message to Mark. I still can't access the Yahoo files but this may be incompatibility with my version, like the Database, as I have Explorer 5.5, but maybe these files require 6.0. I'm gradually finding my way around the new forum functions. It's good fun!

Yahoo has been "fudged" up all week with files in the groups, i`ve had major troubles myself with files in groups i`ve used 100 times before.

I'll try periodically to access these wiped clips, as from what you've told me, I think that each person's version of Explorer has no relevance to the outcome of not being able to access them. If this is right, then I should be able to access the clips eventually and will keep trying.

the version of explorer shouldn't make any difference but microsoft is hardly the most reliable software. when everything is ok again i'll look at the clips they sound good. the audio tape I found a while ago of totp fragmentoids sounds like bits of the 26/12/69 edition as I said there are only the songs with breif snatches of audience noise at the begining and end of each, what was the order of songs for this edtion?

It wouldn't be 'Good Morning Freedom', would it? That goes 'Good morning world, it's a brand new day'. Still haven't got the montages to work....must give it another go!

Dear Laurence Regarding trying to date any of you montage clips. I have a good run of DISC magazine which used to give line ups for TOTP. Perhaps I could help if you need date of performances.

Thanks, William. I've recently returned from holiday and have just seen your message. I will upgrade to Explorer 6.0 at a later date but I know what you mean about Microsoft software. It has its good points but it's not always stable. For instance, if I cut or copy and paste information, in some cases a 2 space paragraph moves up one so the separate paragraphs are stuck together. Maybe this problem is fixed on Explorer 6.0, hopefully. I've been reading the various comments on Neil's montage. I am most astounded. If only the owner of these performances would come forward. Either he/she is holding on to them privately or doesn't know about this forum. I'm hopeful that more performances will become available to the BBC in the end. The BBC may be interested in these audio recordings from the 26/12/69 edition, after reading on their FAQ that both audio and video recordings are welcome. This is more good news.

Whoever it is they definitely know about this site as they once posted a message on the TOTPtastic board that made it pretty obvious they had seen this forum.
I enquired on the old Missing Episodes forum as to who the chubby bloke in the first montage was, and they posted a message on the TOTPtastic board to tell me it was Joe Dolan.

Re Montage Definatly Tremeloes "Me And My Life" Dates ? 3/9/70 17/9/70 1/10/70 & 29/10/70. Family "Weavers Answer" also on TOTP 24/9/70. Definatly Joe Dolan "You're Such A Good Looking Woman" 12/3/70 & 26/3/70. Rattles "The Witch" also screened 29/10/70 & 5/11/70. Only a guess but these clips just might be from one of those technicians christmas tapes. Both ITV & BBC had xmas `do's` where unofficial compilation tapes were shown (The Late Dave Watkins got hold of a few) it's a small possibility. ASM

Did the guy who identified Joe Dolan also tell you that he owned the missing material too then, Neil? What name did he post under? Just curious.
