how long was totp in the 60s? if it was about 30 mins rather than 25 then there is a chance of bits suviving at the end of video tapes, the no1 + the end titles like the hendrix/lulu clip

Certainly in the 1968 & 69 period TOTP was only on for 25mins; up to 15th Jan 1970 when the BIG overhaul took place!

abyone who has seen this show in its entirety might notice et the end of the show 6/6/68 saville is muted but clearly speaking and saying " see you next week for another edition of top of the pops"
and that bit is used for the 25th birthday opening credits
