Been watching the set today, and it's extremely well put together. I've had around 95% of it for decades, but there are still a few gems that are new to me (Helen Shapiro - No Trespassing, Bobby Shafto - She's My Girl, The Beach Boys - Dance, Dance, Dance, Manfred Mann - Five Long Years, and more).
I have to ask though... why wasn't this gem included? An oversight, or difficulty in getting rights?

Still haven't received mine, ordered in July. Getting a bit silly.

I agree that the process and mail-out has been pretty woeful, without much in the way of updates.

I agree that the process and mail-out has been pretty woeful, without much in the way of updates. Would also be nice if they emailed people when they were dispatched, rather than people checking forums. Hopefully they learn from this, as this set (apart from the omissions of The Beatles' songs and The Zephyrs) is superb. Really hope they do more, with other music shows.

The Zephyrs film would have been a nice extra. There's other footage that was under consideration as well, such as the silent 8mm of The Beatles rehearsal, and the "Bunny Lake Is Missing" footage, but #1 was to present all actual broadcast footage that BMG and KAL have in their archives and present them in chronological order, and attempt to avoid any backlash from Apple Corps, as well as "de-Clark-ing" the available footage by using multiple sources (i.e. inserting original credits even if the quality was not as good as the BMG source that had DC's bogus credits). I'm not involved in shipping or any financial bits, and yes, I'm still waiting for my copy. :-)

It seems to be a patchwork of everything from film to VHS. What happened to the masters? Did BMG not receive them from DC as part of the deal?

Hi Ken - the sources are quite varied - Laserdisc, BFI archive, KAL archive, BMG, and probably VHS. DC supposedly has the masters. I cannot get into detail, as I do not know "everything" and don't want to present misinformation, but the materials received from BMG are definitely NOT masters. The best quality materials came from the BFI and KAL archives.

Having had a chance to compare the set with some of DC's compilations, I can't believe how much he modified the shows for no apparent reason. I strongly suspect that there is still stuff missing from 27/11/1964. One of Keith Fordyce links in that episode is truncated on the set. I've seen the full version on a DC compilation and he introduces a second number from an artist. It can't be the Isley Brothers, who are the only act who play two songs in the available versions of that show, because their second number starts with an ad cap. Presumably DC a number out at some stage.

Same here. Haven't received mine yet, and have been unable to obtain tracking numbers From Kal that might allow me to attempt to trace the package.
Not sure if it makes any difference, but I'm in the USA...
