Yes it came from facebook originally. Someone posted their story there quite casually. A man and his son were clearing houses and simply came across them one day, along with a bunch of movies (which do not seem to be missing so far).

An episode turned up-blimey!-almost a decade ago: wipednews.wordpress.com/2012/04/29/ourmanatstmarks/ when "It’s recovery brings the total number of surviving episodes to four and doubles the number of surviving episodes to feature Carry On . . . star Philips in the lead role." so these new 'uns almost double the total number of survivors. Added: Ah. I did a double-take at the MC post's reference to Donald Sinden as the lead, but as Wiped News notes " (Leslie) Philips only appeared in series one of the show. For the remaining two series (1964–5), Donald Sinden took over the charge of St Mark’s as vicar Stephen Young." so we know that these new discoveries are from 1964 or 65.

So unless Spectrum pull their finger out these 'lost' episodes will probably remain 'lost'? Sad story.

Does anyone know where the owner of these prints lives? If its local, I don't mind going to collect.

TPTV always seem interested in archive material - strange that! - but, as I’ve pointed out before, most archive material has a copyright holder, even if that copyright holder didn’t give a Rhett Butler about the material in the past.
They generally reply to emails TheTalkingPicturesTVTeam@talkingpicturestv.co.uk

I have heard from Sarah from TPTV who are happy to collect.
She is not however a member of the board, and neither am I, although I have applied for membership which hasn't been granted. It would be typical if they were disposed of before they could be got to safety.
Does anyone have an account there and would they be willing to either post the above or send him an email? Alternatively PM me and I will pass on the message from Sarah. I am happy to contact them directly if someone can provide contact details and pass on TPTVs interest.
Lets get these rescued!

Need to communicate to him first! If anyone could post a response expressing TPTVs willingness to collect that would be great in case they get flogged on ebay first!

Has all the hallmarks of a classic hoax. Not convinced this is genuine.

It seem fairly small potatoes to hoax over. I think it's best to assume that they are genuine and have what what they say they have.
