Hope it's ok to promote this here, if not mods please remove. Shindig! issue #91 (available in high streets from tomorrow May 2nd) includes my long delayed Colour Me Pop article, which has been ten years in the making since I first floated the idea on this very forum! It contains quite a lot of new info on the show (mainly gleaned from the interview with Steve Turner that it's based around) as well as rare images. I hope people enjoy it. www.silverbackpublishing.rocks/product/shindig-issue-91-pre-order-on-sale-2nd-may-2019/

Looking forward to the article.
I was just browsing through the CMP Wikipedia page and it states "Off-monitor screenshots (1 each) from the Giles Giles and Fripp and Toast editions exist".
There's no mention of the lovely screenshots that survive of The Honeybus performance.

There's no mention of the lovely screenshots that survive of The Honeybus performance. That’s cos I had no idea they existed until right now! Colour me very interested in this news (to me)! Have they been published anywhere?

These are all out there a good 15 years plus on various re-issues of Honeybus and Colin Hare releases. They were taken by Colin at his home from his TV and are from his archive. Features the line up of Colin Hare, Jim Kelley (deceased), Pete Kircher and Ray Cane. God you can hear that amazing BBC sound with the strings and the band harmonies through these pics. I've always believed they were doing "She sold Blackpool rock" when these shots were taken. Colin couldn't remember sadly. There's 8 in total..

Thanks so much for these Thomas; this instantly shows that despite me spending a decade on researching CMP I still have more to learn and some of it was under my nose all this time! (I dont have any of the physical Honeybus CDs for my sins so missed these) I’m very happy to be corrected anyway and will update the wiki today.
Incidentally the split-screen screenshot you posted is almost certainly from the sequence for ‘Shes Out There’ as (as you will see in the Shindig piece) Steve Turner recalls the visuals for this song exactly like that shot appears in the article! I will be sending him these images as he claims the Honeybus/Clodagh Rodgers show to be one of his favourites.

Thanks Peter, I've known about this footage for a while. It's invaluable as it's the only known behind the scenes footage of CMP. On a related note, it looks like the complete b/w telerecording of the Hollies Colour me Pop is going to be shown at the Kaleidoscope Parkside Plays pop event in Birmingham on June 1st.. www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/parkside-plays-pop-tickets-60811839850This (found by Kal in Steve Turners archive) was supposed to be shown at the 2017 Kal pop event but rights issues apparently with the Hollies management prevented this. I'm planning to attend in June and hope the programme will be shown without any issues this time. I haven't updated the wiki with the existence of this show yet as I prefer to see things with my own eyes before I definitely confirm they exist!

Just as good and pretty much two years before the song was released. They really are the greatest band that missed the boat spectacularly.

Do we know which archive that this exists in? Meaning which French archive?

Good question Ray. I recall Peter's book has the name and details of the French show that this footage originally appeared on which could help narrow things down archive wise, I will check when I'm back home.
In the meantime Gary Jordan requested I add his upload of this footage taken from the master file and fully synched to the thread. here it is:
EDIT: Gary confirmed that this footage (from 'La Nouvelle Vague De la Pop Music') is in the INA archive in Paris.

I knew that looked familiar. The complete show also shows them on the way to the TV studio, and they lip sync "Jennifer Eccles" in the backseat of the car.

Here's what I wrote in 'Channelling The Beat!':
10-12-68 – ‘La Nouvelle Vague De La Pop Music’ (France): Jennifer Eccles / Listen To Me (Taped in early September 1968, ‘Jennifer Eccles’ features The Hollies on the way to and backstage at London’s BBC TV centre, while ‘Listen To Me’ is dubbed footage of the band rehearsing for ‘Colour Me Pop’)
I've just bought 'Shindig!' magazine, look forward to reading the CMP article later!

Here's a song from The Hollies' 'Colour Me Pop' performance: Looks like the lads were doing a bit of waitering to make ends meet back then.
