Apologies if this has been shared before, but it’s the first time I’ve found this on YouTube (apart from the clips shown on ch4 in 1985) youtu.be/v0eMxRveUk8

Nice one Chris!
Yes it has done the rounds for years but some will nit have seen it.
I love seeing stuff complete. The rarities and obscure stuff are often more interesting than the mainstream.
It was deemed appropriate to cut out the ones that had not hit the charts, but I've never thought this was a good idea.

Yes that's an excellent watch! You get a much better impression of the live tv exhilaration/perspiration (and borderline chaos) that made the show essential viewing for record-buying teens; far more so than with the 'best of' compilations which seem a bit tame by comparison. Nice to see an early performance by Samantha Jones too.

I much prefer the complete show intact but understand why it was made into a compilation series back in 1985 and the reruns just after Christmas in 1992 on Channel 4. I wonder how this got onto the net as you’d expect or assume Dave Clark would have the original ?

I understand too, Chris.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Sixties, it's the music I grew up with. But when one sees the complete show, I can understand how perhaps we see it all through rose-coloured glasses! Some of the performances were just awful!!!
Actually, I didn't remember it being like that, so perhaps they weren't all as bad. But overall, I can't say that episode impressed me.
I recorded almost all of the re-runs in the Nineties, and perhaps it is best just to see the highlights....

I was wondering of this one was gonna show up someday, I'd only seen the other complete one from around the same time, where Keith apologises for Brenda Lee being absent, that also has Kenny Lynch doing My Own Two Feet as well.

I did record all the reruns, and have the "beatles" VHS too. Although, I don't have a VHS player right now...
I do recall one singer being introduced as having a "New Style" which involved vocal swoops - Keith Fordyce didn't look particularly impressed. I'm fairly sure that's not on my tape, but then when did it get re-broadcast? Hmm, I may have missed some...

Oh, and I did see on Youtube, a Beatles Art competition being judged by John Lennon, who awarded the top prize to Penny Rimbaud of Crass, whose chosen prize was an album by Igor Oistrakh, which didn't go down well with John - although the camera did catch them having a nice (inaudible) chat slightly later. The clip I saw didn't have the winning art on it.
(obviously, he wasn't Penny Rimbaud of Crass at the time, but Art Student Jeremy Ratter...)

Great list!
Was just wondering - the 4th October 1963 appearance, is it just the Beatles' inserts or do the other acts still survive?

I got a list from the net around 2008,possibly tv.com with a episode guide but not 100% accurate but still worthwhile as at the time as I bought a load of reel to reel tapes with audio recordings from rsg and other shows and help me work out transmission dates
